From what I can tell...they are picking up 32 of the 40 WGN games. I believe the WGN games are the local ones, right?

And there are 24 ABC 7 games, which is strictly local Chicago.

So, as long as you have CSN, from what I can tell, you should be able to watch 130 Cub games this year and only miss 32.

Not great, but progress.

So what's everyone's opinion on the start of the year with Bryant? Start him opening day and let him get his lumps or start him in DSM and get an extea year?

He'll be in Des Moines for 12 days and not play for 9 Chicago Cub games. Then we will call him up because those 9 games will save the Cubs $15-20 million a few years from now.

My guess is, to ensure Scott Boras doesn't win his grievence, that the Cubs will say he was sent down for 2 weeks because he had to work on his outfield abilities.

Also, you will be bale to see a few games on FSN Midwest via the Cardinals broadcast. For example, I dont see the Cubs broadcast for the April 8th game against the Cardinals available, but you will be able to see it on FSN Midwest.

Yep. Even though Boras will scream about it, the Cubs are completely making the right move.

Wondering when and where we'll see Addison Russell. Sounds like he's having a nice Spring Training, but that infield is pretty full. Baez insurance at some point?

I'm concerned that the experts are lining up on my 83-85 win prediction of teasing a wild card berth.
I thought I was being cautiously optimistic with that, and they're calling it the worst case.

Just hook it to my veins.

Oh god. Don't overdose on cubby blue.

That's what happened to this guy

Addison Russel is expected to get called up some time this year, likely around the time Baez came up last year. Which is why Bryant is getting work in the outfield. If we have no chance of making the playoffs, he likely stays down the whole year and gets the Bryant treatment next year to open the season.

Addison Russel is the real deal, and with all the attention on Baez, Castro, and Bryant, I think he'll likely slide right in and play great from day 1 with no pressure.

Baez likely moves to third when Russel comes.

I think Baez at this point is a coinflip. His approach at the plate is real bad.

What really sucks is they've made all these adjustments for his hitting, which is great, but

1. They aren't working. He has adjusted well - it's just not having any effect

2. His head isn't where it should be. He's had multiple hitting situations where he's ****ed up this spring, silly things like striking out with a runner on third. Just don't think he knows situations well. It's like he was taught to literally swing for the fences and that was it.
