In the spirit of CFH, what surgeries have you had?

I started young. I stole my older sister's "big girl" bike and went for a joy-ride at the ripe old age of six. Going downhill, swinging my feet, swung one back too close to the back wheel. Caught my heel in the spokes, nearly severed my achilles tendon, stopped the bike dead and I flipped *** over teakettle over the handlebars & landed chin first on the street. Broke the left side of my lower jaw. Had to have it surgically screwed back together & my jaw wired shut. For three loooooooong months. I was the only kid in first grade that had to take baby food to school for lunch.

cousin broke her jaw probably about 8 years old. I still remember her talking about the jello and tomato soup diet. Think she got hers riding a bike as well.

I won't even try to compete with Angie! Sorry girl. Your history makes going is for a vasectomy 40 years ago sound like a walk in the park.

My wife has also had her gallbladder removed. Gall stones were being dropped into her pancreas, causing pancreatitis, and that left untreated can kill someone.

Why thanks. 2 spontaneous collapsed lungs when I was 21 within 3 months. It's rare, but not totally uncommon, especially for tall skinny young men. 5 days in the hospital after 3 weeks at my first job out of college. Oh, and chest tubes are unbelievably painful.

spontaneous? YOUR LUNGS CAN COLLAPSE SPONTANEOUSLY?! I mean, I thought pneumothorax was something bad but what, two of them? That is insane.

I woke up for 2 seconds when I was having my wisdom teeth out. I remember people standing around me and my mouth was wide open.

that is terrifying. You aren't allowed to talk anymore. I am the first of four c-sections for my mom and while I want kids, I am terrified of going the family route and needing the knife............then feeling it halfway through.

Small bowel resection 1988. Doctors want to do it again. I do not want the redo. It's a standoff.

Fun trip to CR 50 years ago to have Dr. Foster rebreak and reset my baseball smushed nose.

Angie is clearly the winner even if we can't count the likes on her post. "Liking" seems so inappropriate.
