Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

Not many people mad. Plenty of people disappointed.

Sorry I'm not going to gush about how great it is if he leaves.

I understand disappointment and I don't see anyone gushing over him leaving. Most level headed people understand taking a promotion to the highest level of your profession.

The NBA is an unwatchable league full of divas.

I wish Freddie all the best, but sadly I won't see him if he jumps.

Not sure what game bores me more than the NBA. A horrible product

You're not understanding jsb logic. If you're not going on over a week straight of full blown meltdown, you obviously are gushing over Fred leaving. jsb has to have the CF record for most straight days in meltdown mode.

I do know for a fact to this is wrong. If Fred has a choice for college he chooses here.

Things change. If he leaves, he won't come back here.

I would agree with that on the meltdown record. Somewhat entertaining. Good "click bait " jsb. This has been the longest off season. Meltdown is now part of my phone dictionary.

I agree with this. There's a couple sayings that are sticking in my head right now:

"Fred has never burned a bridge"

and....

"there's a first time for everything"

What I'm hearing here is that, the mods and people who run this site have recruited regular members to freak out in order to help generate clicks in order to keep themselves clear of any "click bait" accusations. Very clever guys.:jimlad:

If he does leave, it's probably to get away from the crazy train that has formed since this rumor started questioning Fred and his integrity and love for Iowa state. For all of the fans who claimed they "trust Fred" it is becoming abundantly clear that you are liars and I will blame you and your kind for driving him away if he does go to the Bulls.

I actually tried to watch some of the playoffs last week and gave up after seeing that King James still fouls 15 times a game and gets called for like 3 while anyone who looks cross-eyed at him in the 4th quarter is whistled.

I was a NBA fan back when you had star packed rivals like the Celtics/Lakers battles and than the Bulls but this stuff now is weak sauce.

I can get through playoff games but the regular season is deadly dull. Watching the playoffs, I have no idea what a foul is in the NBA any more. Also don't understand how Joachim Noah can miss so often from point blank range. Maybe the new Mayor of Chicago can fix that shooting form. Something like hey, you are two inches from the rim, just drop it in.:wideeyed:

That is not a certainty at all. If he coached 10 years in the NBA and decided he was ready for the college game again, he'd be welcomed back with open arms.

Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

No one has done more for Iowa State sports than Fred Hoiberg. No one. Unbelievable how many people go full ****** bag at the thought of him leaving for a great opportunity. Selfish bastards.

I think Fred is on the way to accomplishing more for ISU sports than anyone but isn't there yet. Yes it's dumb for people to be personally mad at him for doing what he thinks is best for his family. But it is also dumb for people to pretend that Fred has been doing ISU a favor by being here. He was offered a job as a HC when he wasn't sniffing another HC job. He got pay raises and extensions as appropriate, and what would've been offered and accepted by anyone else in the same position. If Fred leaves now for the Bulls the past 5 years have been a mutually beneficial arrangement, nothing different than had it been a Brad Stevens, Archie Miller, Shaka Smart, etc. I disagree that ISU owe Fred's anything different or that Fred owes ISU anything more.

I guarantee you he isn't burning any bridges with the ISU AD.

The screwed up thing is that even if Fred does come back, after next season we'll have to deal with rumor after rumor that Flip Saunders is ready to settle into a full time management role for the Timberwolves (he is already President of Basketball Operations) and Fred will be the top candidate to replace him as head coach for Minnesota.

I'm cool with that. I want Fred to stay and coach what could be our best team ever. Then ride off into the sunset.
