Lol
I am still wondering why they listed different measurements then.
I AM ALSO WONDERING WHY IT SAYS "similar to the other board" on the project website.
It's okay. I encounter people who have trouble admitting they are wrong all the time. I get it. You would rather state why the facts aren't facts rather than simply say. "I guess they aren't the same size."
1. Measurements clearly say they aren't the same size. 6" over 35' yeah
2. The writing on the board says "similar" which means they aren't the same.
3. Pollard has said similar over and over..
4. I really don't care that it's a little smaller. It's plenty big. I plan on enjoying the stadium very much and I'm extremely pumped for the season. I'm out.
PS I don't care if my auto correct on my phone subs a different word in and I miss it. It's a message board.
SIAP. Why is there a gap between the old and new sections? Are they covering that up?
I think the poster was referring to the gap on lower level of the southeast side. Not the video board that you, whether right or wrong on your argument of semantics, are making yourself look like a complete tool. It's only about 6 inches. I don't think there is a gap.
LOL. I couldn't help myself. Too funny.

I believe the gap in seating is there because that's where the venting and access to the underground plumbing for the field sprinklers is located. I'm interested to see how that gap is filled.
Thanks for checking with Daktronics to end this stupid argument. I highly doubted they were less than a foot different since a module is larger than a foot square. Both the north and south video displays are 36.0 feet high and 79.2 feet wide with an aspect ratio of 720x1584.

It's going to look stupid if that isn't covered up. And don't tell me it has to be there, I don't see it in other stadiums.
We're talking about the gap and the "white box", correct?

Good grief. The idiots can even ruin a perfectly good JTS thread.

If the columns behind the board they put up are similar in size to the columns for the other board then they are not the same size. Furthermore, the staff has stated it's similar in size which translates to it being smaller.
I went back and looked at video of both when they were installed. If they are the same size I would be extremely surprised by that.
Again, not a big deal but after seeing them in person and comparing installation I don't see anyway that's possible.
Our TWO video boards are both plenty big!
Thanks. I couldn't find that. Closer than I thought!
Two boards! Can't wait!
[QQUOTE=theshadow;4627866]South display: Appx 36 x 79
North display: Appx 36 x 79.5
Both numbers from Daktronics press releases.
Nobody is upset. Hate misinformation. It leads to problems.
Sorry as this has probably been brought up and gone over a bunch.
Just so we are clear here, you are claiming to have been able to tell this 6 inch difference just looking at it?
And have you ever heard of significant figures? Just because they say 79 feet doesn't mean it's exactly 79 feet. They could be rounding any number of ways.
They are the same size. Especially as another poster stated earlier, they are not going to mess with the aspect ratio of the board. It is much more likely that the values reported were just rounded differently.
EDIT: HG Puck beat me to it. Rep to him.
D Up Clones certainly looks foolish here...... especially considering how much he hates misinformation
Foolish. Foolish is stating something that is 6 inches smaller over 39 feet is the same as having those 6 inches. Like that Crack, heck it's only 6 inches wide over a long span. It's nothing according to you geniuses.
No offense to HG. I like facts but I read through that and no where did it state that was isu's board or did it list the measurement of the other board. You guys arguing that the stated measurement somehow aren't right and that proves u are right. Shaking my head at the logic in that argument but you can't win arguments with people who never admit they are wrong.
What's funny is some people are so clueless they now are chastising me for complaining that's it is smaller. ( which of course I never did). As a matter of fact I said it didn't matter at all.
But don't let that get in the way of you guys patting yourselves on the back. Keep patting fellas.
Like a have said several times in this thread. I am extremely happy with both boards.
You guys can keep at it. I have better things to do than continue a disagreement where facts mean nothing to your opinions.
I used to like this thread..
