While the bolded part is true now, him leaving would be dropping the A-bomb on the ISU portion of the map.
How do you know this?

When Hoiberg leaves, people won't be mad, they will be disappointed.

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams.
But what about jet fuel that's on fire?
I don't think Fred is the team player everyone thinks he is. Team players don't leverage your school for three consecutive years for big raises. Team players don't flirt with Minnesota. Team players don't hurt their recruiting abilities by not communicating to potential recruits. Team players don't stop communication with their bosses and leave everyone wondering what the hell is going on for several weeks.
I love Fred and hope he decides to stay for a long time. But he's in this for himself first and ISU a distant second. I think that much is obvious now. Not that there is anything wrong with that because every other coach does the same thing. But let's not pretend Fred will protect/think about ISU's best interests before his own.
You know times are tough when you ask a Kindergarten daughter of one of the ISUMBB Coaches at your school if he's staying or going.

It is the freaking Bulls....it isn't like he is leaving for the Bucks. Even if the Bulls were dead last in the league, this isn't a job Fred can turn down.
ha ha ha, thanks I needed this. You know times are tough when you ask a Kindergarten daughter of one of the ISUMBB Coaches at your school if he's staying or going.
And?
The Cubs will soon be better than the Bulls. It is the freaking Bulls....it isn't like he is leaving for the Bucks. Even if the Bulls were dead last in the league, this isn't a job Fred can turn down.
If fans get angry at him for leaving, I don't want to be a Cyclone fan anymore. We can be sad, but no need to dislike the guy for pursing his dream and bringing ISU basketball back on the map. Will it stay there? That's the part we can all panic about.
100% true. Someone needed to post this.
Deonte could have a full 2 years if he transferred and red shirted. He hasn't redshirted yet. He would be most likely imo along with georgos.Doubt they would wanna sit another year. Plus Deonte would then have what, a semester left?
Yes he can. That job will be open in 3 yrs again...even with fred as the coach. It's rare for a cosch to last more than two years with a team. Maybe he just wants to coach a few more years then be done. I can assure u this, that Bulls team will look totally different in two years and not in a good way. An absolutely big mistake IMO...one Fred really has never made to this point in his career.
That is definitely not the case from what I've heard.Otz had almost had a contract for the job when there was Gopher steam with Fred. The next coach is TJ. Get used to it.
