Oklahoma State also has our game sandwiched between two home games: TCU and Baylor. Banking on them overlooking our game.

1-11. Win over Toledo.

ISU finished 128th out of 128 teams in total defense and lost like 6 senior starters. They will somehow get worse. The offense lost the one player in Farniok who kept it together and the offense was still horrible overall. The WR's are the only unit on the whole team that is even average by Big 12 standards and their success is totally predicated on a QB who has never won a Big 12 game. This will be one of the worst teams in ISU history, which is really quite the accomplishment.

I think I've found 1 of the 10-15 realistic Iowa state fans on this site. Wow. It feels good to have some company.

I thought the same exact thing when I looked at the schedule. I think we could get one more conference win in the last eight but we could lose one of the first four too. 4-8 is what I'm thinking. The bummer for CPR will be that 4-0 start will be forgotten if we lose eight in a row to end the year and get smashed in a couple of those game in embarrassing fashion

I would say that four wins would be a good under & over number......I just cant see this paul rhoads team doing much this season...I hope I'm wrong

Agree. Let's get this over with and move on to hiring a new coach. Even if we win squeak out 5 or 6 wins next year, I think recruiting has been so dismal that we'll fall right back into the abyss of our last two seasons of futility.

We lost half of our terrible defense, so they MUST be even worse this season, huh?

According to anybody with half a brain, our receivers are well above average for Big 12. Not to mention a returning starter at QB who knows before August that he's the guy. With an offensive coordinator who's been in Ames for more than a couple months.

I bet your overall outlook on life is just peachy, must be a real treat to be around!

My prediction will change if the O-Line does a huge metamorphosis, but as it stands now Sam will not be around to QB the team in October, he is gonna get killed.

I suppose that it's fair that if some people can be pessimistic, I can be reasonably "best case scenario" optimistic. Of course, I'm not sure I can add this morning, either.

I do think 4 wins would be enough for CPR to coach again IF the 4th win is a Texas, Oklahoma or any top 25 Big XII team. 3 wins or less and he's likely out. I can't see us winning more than 5 games this year, I just don't see it but really want to keep my expectations low.

This is mine. Maybe flip Iowa and Toledo, then maybe flip Tech and some upset later in the season (KSU/Texas?WVU). But end result is the same. 3-9 (2-7).
