I like all the emphasis on Chicago, but the absence of mentions of Detroit concerns me. We already have a pipeline there.

Why do you think Robinson is better than Mann? All those great players he he getting at Loyola? Also, why did they need a specific bigs coach? From what I have seen McKay, Niang, Ejim, have all been done pretty well.
Did you realize we have a new head coach? He is going to do things his way. Not the rholtgraves way. It really isn't hard to understand. And besides Monte, who has Mann recruited to ISU?

Doesn't a pipeline mean a constant flow? When was the last player we had from Michigan before Monte?

I am glad TJ is on staff because I think he is a good recruiter and a good assistant.

I don't really care about continuity. IMO it's very overrated when talking about making hires in basketball. Get the best staff you can whether they are familiar with the program or not.

Percy was from Detroit.
Since 2002 (as far back as rivals goes), 4 players from Michigan: Dominique Buckley, Percy, SDW and Monte. Not exactly pipeline material considering Monte is the only one who has amounted to anything.

I'm not saying you're wrong, only answering your question.

@AlexHalsted: Prohm on his staff: "I think we're well-rounded to our recruiting base... To the south, to the Midwest to the JUCO players."

I think that Prohm is going to quickly find out that recruiting the South at ISU is a much different ballgame than recruiting at a southern school. Programs that have less success and fan support than ISU can beat us for recruits because kids don't want to leave the south. I'd be surprised if the south ends up being a prime recruiting area for us.

You are weird. This place for opinions. It would be boring if everyone just had no comment except for coach knows best.

Well to be fair Morris is by far better than anyone Robinson has ever recruited and Mann wasn't exactly asked to recruit a lot of HS talent under Fred. The last couple years they only went after a couple top players.

We did just get a coach from the south... I have a feeling he will know what to tell recruits.

I'm not saying Mann should have been retained, I'm saying Robinson is worse. It makes sense to replace Mann for the simple fact there isn't a ton of talent from Michigan these days and they usually go to MSU or Michigan.

Prohm wanted JUCO connections over Michigan connections. We were 2nd or 3rd (or worse) best too much there anyway.

He already has ties and connections down there so it should be easier for him to recruit. I'm not sure what the difference between a southern player coming to ISU and a northeastern player coming to ISU is.

Floyd had no problems getting kids from the South up here.
