I don't agree at all.

Bank the scholarship and use it on whoever you want. An impact transfer, a JUCO, another high school guy, whatever.

This kid is going to sit on the bench this year, maybe play some next year if we are lucky? And maybe get decent minutes his JR year. There's no reason to spend the scholly unless TJ think's he's a legit player.

Prohm's talk about finding a practice body concerns me and it's (of course) absurd to waste a scholarship on a guy just for a practice body. That is inarguable.
Why did we hire Prohm, when we could have just had this guy as the coach? ^^^^

Reminds me of Martin Rancik....but with some hops. Even looks like he can hit the 3 if he's left open.

TJ recruited him.

TJ recruited him.

I know. Obviously Fred didn't give the green light but Prohm did. I prefer the way Hoiberg did things to this, that's just my opinion and it worked out very well the past 5 years.

From the way Prohm was talking, I suspect he just wants another practice body and told TJ to go get one. And he did. I think it's dumb. Shoot me.

Fred wasn't here when he visited. We didn't offer until he visited. Prohm was here and had offered players before he visited.

Fred probably never paid any attention to this kid because he didnt do any recruiting the last 2 years. Also, hes not the coach anymore. You should probably deal with that first

Could be, I'm sure TJ just met him Friday. It's plausible because we are by far his best offer and there was no reason for him to hold out for any others.

If he doesn't warrant a scholarship long term he won't be here long term. Do you not know how college recruiting works? Do you expect every player to start or play significant minutes? Even without this scholarship next year, everyone we recruit still won't play significant minutes.

Sure better recruits would be nice, but they aren't around this time of year. We have so many available scholarships next year that every recruit won't be better either.

Does this mean we're out for Kyle Washington? Or Obepka from SJU?

And Ernst is a one year with option to keep. Not a four year commitment. If we have better options later he can always leave. we took him cuz it's June and we need a post. Just chill and have a shot.

He was also only a 2 year commitment and we got his JR and SR years without him taking a scholarship up his FR and SO years. He contributed his first year.

Apples to oranges.

again another prime example of ISU "fans" forgetting recruits and signings read these boards. We pride ourselves on being great fans, but we forget to show it.
