Much better than lagging ticket sales and lower attendance like a team to the east of us is experiencing.

Increasing attendance and a newly expanded bowled in stadium are good things.

Explain to me why you are on Cyclone Fanatic..........Mr. Troll. You smell like Hawkeye stench.

Both of you have solid points. The stadium improvement is a massive one, and should be a reason better players and coaches come to Ames. Filling it is icing on the cake.

To attract a coach with enough star power to attract great recruits, ISU should have saved a big chunk of that stadium expansion money toward the next coach's pay package. It's the only way to possibly turn the program around. Then the money comes in to finish off expansion, when there is a demand for it. IMO

A lot of coaches don't exactly want to coach in a glorified MAC stadium. This stadium project, enclosing the South Endzone, was huge in making Jack Trice a Big 12 stadium. Facilities are huge in hiring coaches.

Sounds like the Hawkeye program is on the decline. Explains things why you come to Cyclone Fanatic where the number of fans and posters is on the rise, rather than a dead Hawkeye website.

Poor Lil Brother.

As crappy as the discussion on CF can be sometimes, it is still about 1,000 times better than most sports forums. All the Hawkeye forums are overrun with terrible posters and this year they are coming over to CF much worse than in the past. Trying to drag CF down to Hawkeye Nation's level.

Prefer to wait and see how the season plays out before speculation on hiring coaches.

Looking forward to you not mentioning Iowa State's seasons of the last 2 years. They are in the "Past".

Moving forward, it looks like Iowa State will definitely have record crowds for Jack Trice in our first 2 games for sure. Just love setting new attendance records.

Your record attendance is to attend the amusement park, not to see the show. Congratulations that you'll have excitement for the first few games, not to mention they're going to be much of your premium tickets. Hopefully you can win a few games to keep people coming back after the initial "OMG THIS FEELS LIKE A DIVISION ONE STADIUM!!@@" feeling wears off

I sense frustration, and slight bitterness even, as though you expect Iowa State fans on CYCLONE Fanatic to agree with your pro-Iowa stances. I love perusing through opposing teams' message boards (Iowa, KU, KSU, TAMU, UT... etc.) but if you are doing anything more than fun dialogue with an opponent, and not doing so knowing your place on the board, you may be suited somewhere else.

Sorry that it came out that way. Simply discussing the topic at hand and exchanging a few jabs with the ISU crazies here.

Some friendly advice (that I need myself at times): Instead of ripping ISU fans for excitement about finally having a Power 5-level stadium, be thankful that a team who has beaten Iowa more times than not since 1998, now has a stadium worth respecting. Also, respect that your opponent, despite struggling, has slowly developed an alumni and fan base to sustain athletics at a higher level. For far too long, Iowa State simply didn't care about athletics (and some fans still unfortunately carry expectations of Old Iowa State) and that is why the school is still digging out of the crater. With this mindset, you'll appreciate the excitement around the South Endzone a little more, and you'll come across with good intentions in rival territory.

The $99 game mini-pack is for the wedge sections of our SEZ. They are not premium seats in that location.

An Iowa fan can purchase a single game ticket for the Iowa game at a lower cost than what the mini-pack costs. And that single game ticket could possibly be in a much better location.

This is a great way to let those experience the newly expanded Jack Trice Stadium. And the great tailgate atmosphere at ISU. For those fans who actually cheer for both teams, this could further erode the University of Iowa football ticket sales. Chance to see some decent games at a decent price in a newly expanded and enhanced Jack Trice Stadium.

Probably ensures that Hawkeye Football ticket sales will struggle even more. Is that what is upsetting you, Lil Brother?

LOL, conceited much?

ISU building a new endzone is going to cause Iowa to struggle selling tickets. Now I've heard it all. Damn you, Iowa State, for causing our reduction in ticket sales! Thank God it has nothing to do with the changing atmosphere of Iowa City tailgating, the gameday experience in Iowa City, coaching expectations or the success or lack thereof on the field against equal to subpar opponents. I was afraid that we were causing our own ticket sales struggle!

Curse you, Iowa State, for causing our ticket sales to decline!

How are iowas minipacks selling? Do they 'wreak' as much?

I never claimed that Iowa wasn't in a very similar boat. I'm just saying that while it's a desperate move, as a fan, I wouldn't be too proud to buy in anyway.

If Iowa's schedule were different and I could get tickets to ISU, UNI and Ohio State for $99, I would gladly take that, too. But Iowa's home schedule absolutely blows this year.

I can understand this. I'd say this "wreaked of desperation" if it included multiple conference games.
