What's your confidence level of beating UNI in the first game?

you are talking about a fcs team that has lost one game in 3 years, one. And a ndsu team that would probably have beaten 70% of FBS teams that day, not to mention Kstate, they aren't too shabby of a fball program. Let me know how many FBS teams have had game day come to their campus, twice.

I was maybe 40% confident the last two years because those teams were both good and we were still getting **** figured out but both years everyone seemed super confident on here. This year everyone gives us no chance and I am 90-95% confident. In fact, I think we p!ss pound them. One, we will be a better and more experienced team.
Two, this will be the first time we aren't rolling out a brand new new offense for the first game for the first time in a few years. Three, UNI will be a much less talented team next year. They are losing a legit NFL running back and starting QB (yeah yeah how did that go for ND State, well UNI isn't ND state they don't have the depth). Add it all up plus a little good old fashion revenge and we win big. That will then be followed by a new over inflated perception of how good this team is because they out performed your distorted expectations once again.

This part is definitely accurate.... if we win by a comfortable margin (and that's a big "if,") the pendulum swing will be wild and dangerous...

As for my confidence level? I have no idea... I can't even start to make a guess and it seems like I'm just more disappointed when I try.

I honestly think this is the year we go winless. I wouldn't expect much for changes at the end of it either. If Pollard didn't fire Rhoads after last year, he's never going to.

If we went winless, hed have to be fired or Pollard would lose his job just so a new AD could fire him.

Maybe some on this board, but not me.

I can't think of a score against UNI where I'd be all of the sudden thinking we were a bowl level team? If we beat UNI 48-7 for instance, that wouldn't really tell me much. It would have me more excited for the next game, but that's about it.

Obviously a big win against UNI wouldn't hurt, but it just won't get a big wild and dangerous pendulum swing from me, that's for sure.

I'm very cautious. Farniok isn't just injured this time-- he's graduated. He gone. And his injuries have been the culprit for all of our opening day losses lately.

I hope we pound the the panthers and they leave a yellow stripe on the ground all the way back to Cedar Falls. Just not confident that's going to happen.
