Was when Leath got involved inthe coaching search this Summer an indication of his opinion of Pollard?
Is there some big pile of cash hidden somehwere that I don't know about that Pollard could be using to develop these sustained coaching pedgrees? It certainly would be nice, but where does the money come from?
Lol at the 'favorite' on Twitter like that means something
(1) Ex-coaches with major riffs with the athletic department don't come back to school the next year for football games.
Iowa State was given money to reimburse the trip. It probably didn't cover everything but Iowa State won the damn thing. With the added publicity of their success I think a couple rooms could be covered to make your student-athletes and ICONIC head coach more comfortable. My exact thoughts. Not checking out of a hotel so kids can hang out in their room seems like a waste of money and impractical. That part of the article was really worded to generate an emotional response. I love Hines, but this article feels like he had a bit of an axe to grind.
I'm not defending Pollard because I really don't know the guy. He may be extremely tight and cheap when it comes to a lot of things. However, I also can't just overlook the money he has helped bring into the university and what has been done with it to improve ISU.
If all of the things are true, hopefully this article may be the thing needed to put him in check moving forward.
Good point...
It would be really interesting for a reporter to ask Hoiberg to comment on the article. Big scoop for someone at the ISU Daily...
Agree. This is not some sensationalistic website or blogger. It's a real newspaper with standards and credibility to maintain. I've always thought Pollard was great at challenging the status quo. But I hate the way he puts himself as the face of the program. I also think he spews stuff out that is borderline propaganda.I believe Hines 100%
Hoiberg won't comment for the same reasons he kept all this under his hat while he was here. He doesn't want to blow up the University.
Well one thing sure is clear: A lot of people on this message board are really good at group think and knee-jerk reactions. Football team is 1-2? Obviously they'll win no more games! Fire the coach!
Our basketball team had to check out of a hotel by 11 a.m. to save money? Fire the AD!
Some poster says we're good at group think and knee-jerk reactions? Ban the moron!
