Travis may not be long for the Trib regardless. He'll either move up or down...or maybe laterally, but I don't think he'll be in town. He has either done really great work on this story or really crappy work.

All the outrage at JP from earlier in this thread needs to be directed towards Hines 100 fold.

Crap article, with crap examples, with crap sources to smear our basketball program. Now the national media will run with it and never follow up with the truth, which is terrible press for us.

He didn't talk to him. Hines requested an interview on Monday for an interview for today for a story set to publish today.

Thanks for the info, but my point remains, Fred is worth more than 900,000

900k is not JP's salary. That year he got a one time longevity bonus of 600k. His salary is about 300k I believe.

There people go again. believing whatever comes out of Pollards mouth.
He had a chance to be a part of the story and he chose not to. Only when he starts getting killed does he come out and then try to defend himself and attack Travis.
Pollard is great at propoganda. That's how he gets people to buy tickets despite a crappy team.

So, a guy whose job is potentially on the line after that article comes out and denies it? What else would people expect him to say?

Whether Hines is spot on or not, you can't take as biased a source as could possibly be strictly at face value. JP has some serious interests to protect here, like his career.
