As a member of Privé Society, I will say, the service is an incredible one for those of us who live a particular lifestyle. Those of us who have worked hard enough and have been blessed to know what true luxury is, know sometimes you've got to spend money to truly understand its worth. As we say in Privé, "Tantum divites prosperatur".

I thought the TCU OC was Sonnie Cumbie? If not, Meacham has only been there for 5 games.

Fleck does a good job of self promotion, but he's going to need to win MAC games this year to prove he should be in the conversation.

If ISU is looking for a new HC, I would hope they go after a guy with some HCing experience. The current Memphis coach makes sense. I would also like us to look at guys like Greg Schiano, Jim Tressel or Jim Leavitt. I think Maryland fired Edsill to get in first with Schiano. I realize Tressel and Leavitt have some baggage, but that's Jamie job to figure what the back story is.

Wow, Jim Leavitt... I haven't heard that name in years. We should definitely take a look at him. He spent time with the Hoks, and Kansas State, so he's familiar with the area. He was a winner in South Florida, and he built that team literally from the ground up. They've never been the same since he left. It looks like he spent the past few years with the 49ers, so he has NFL experience to show off to recruits. On top of that, the poor guy is stuck as an assistant at Colorado now, so you know he'd welcome the opportunity to jump that ship. Good outside the box call on that one!

Another name mentioned earlier that I think is worth highlighting is Willie Fritz. He's an offensive innovator that took a FCS team up to the FBS level, and that first year went undefeated in conference play. He runs the triple option out of the pistol/shotgun. It has all the advantages as what Paul Johnson does, without hindering the passing game. It's an option attack that's still sexy enough to excite fans and attract recruits. It's perfect for what we need.

It's probably already been beaten to the ground, but ISU needs to look for someone who has taken a bad program and made it into something decent/respectable elsewhere.

Something similar (but obviously with someone younger) to what David Sutcliffe has done at Duke.

I am not sure the perfect coach exists for ISU, but I think a few things are critical.
1) The guy needs to be able to build a very good staff. This probably favors a current HC who would bring along his existing staff.
2) Recruiting FL/TX and CA will all need to be focus areas for recruiting, but we need to work the upper midwest hard and find the diamonds in the rough in under recruited areas. The reality is ISU is about 5th or 6th in the pecking order for recruits in a state like Texas.
3) Lesson learned over the last couple years, JUCO's need to be a core part of our recruiting classes, at least initially.
4) ISU needs to be different. We need to be unique to prepare for.
5) Most people are focused on offense, but for ISU to be competitive defense is the key.
6) We have to compete hard for Iowa HS kids. We need to be in early and have an assistant who has a great rep among Iowa HS coaches.

It's time for Bode to eat some crow, I don't think Rhoads is going to get it done this year. Last Saturday I was laughed at by strangers walking with Iowa State apparel. Losing to 35 by T-Tech pretty much seals that we will not win 6 this season. Now we have to take bs from Hok fans for the rest of the year. I'm not the fan that says 'we'll still beat you in basketball'. Our football team is a damn f-ing embarrassment!!!!!! Paul do something now or move out!!!!!!

This is a long shot, but I could see Georgia firing Mark Richt after this year. I would be all over that.

I don't think I would take that. I think a coach would struggle coming from a place where it is so much easier to recruit than Iowa State. Could be wrong, but I would rather see a guy who has done a lot with a little. A guy like Richt would be good for pumping up the fan base though.

I feel we are in for a rough transition whomever it is, that new SEZ project has a price and it may be that JP looks down to KU and sees their coaching woes of 5 years and empty seats and will be gun shy with getting rid of CPR. Reality is they are already pumping kool-aid to us for next year with recruiting of talent. CPR will be on the side lines and we will be back with another fan thread

Fiscally it's a tough move firing Rhoades. He would be due 4.5 million, plus whatever coaches are in the first year of deals that have to be replaced, then add on the first year of the new coach...looking at a pretty big lump sum. Add in the SEZ and ISU would be screwed as far as budget goes. That 10 year deal is killing us right now.
