Any pregame gatherings Thursday night? If not, anyone know of any decent bars downtown?

The Sanford Pentagon is bringing in teams every year. I'm guessing the pay is good and basically we get a home game in a small gym and a chance for a bunch of SF Cyclones to see a game with an ESPN audience. It's a win all around.

Wrong. This was set up so Boxstercy could get very good main level $50 tickets to an ISU game within driving distance and not having to bend over to get rimmed by fellow Cycomes selling their home Hilton tickets.

True story, man.

I have more of a problem with the capacity of the venue. I would go to this if there wasn't such crazy asking prices for tickets.

Is this really this hard of a concept? I believe we get a $150,000 pay day, a solid foe on a "neutral" floor that is likely to be 99% Cyclone fans that will look good on our NCAA resume and we get a time slot of national TV on the first day of the season. Why WOULDN'T we play this game?

Rookies is a good sports bar up there. Not downtown but a decent distance from the arena. Good food, decent prices. Give it a shot.

As others have said, money is the big driving force here. But as a recent graduate and lifelong ISU fan, I'm not only pumped to be able to see a game within an hour of me, but for there to at least be a chance for the growing NWIA/Siouxland fanbase to see a game firsthand. Tickets are obviously tough to come by in the small venue, but as someone who has been surrounded by Iowa and Nebraska fans my entire life, I'm just excited that ISU is tapping into the area.

You can always stop by Historic Augustana University. I hear they have a solid basketball team.

Beef 'O' Brady's right across the road from the Pentagon. Should be a lot of Cyclones there before and after the game!
