The most important player in this class is either QB Justice Hansen or OG Oge Udeogu. Those players are at a postition of need for 2016. We all know how important 2016 is to this program as this could be one of the most talented ISU teams in history. Both players are at a position where we need depth.

Oge Udeogu was a huge commit. The guy is a mauler. He should be able to step right in and make an impact.

Agree that we need a Juco QB. Kind of sounds like the staff wants Justice Hansen over Riley Ferguson.

I mean, I like Lanning, but he seems pretty one-dimensional at this point in his career. Now, I am not saying he can't improve.....but, this teams needs someone that can throw the ball and get into rhythm. If we can get a guy like Justice Hansen (went to OU right out of HS) and he turns into a guy that can run the no-huddle attack and hit those short intermediate routes consistently, then our offense will have no problems moving the ball with the likes of Warren, Lazard, D'Vario Montgomery, and wait for it.......Hakeem Butler. Butler is a budding star you wait and see.

Hermanns decommitted because he really was not being pursued by the new staff. That is true of a few other recruits that had already committed. And there are some ISU commits who were contacted and asked to reaffirm their commitment right away. And some did.

Hermanns is a good recruit and has many options. He will find another school. We are going after some bigger fish pretty hard.

Hope you're right because it seemed like he really wanted to come here, for engineering and all.

I like Lanning a lot simply because he has all of the physical tools and a confident mindset. He could be special with a little more experience and coaching.

It's being reported he hasn't heard from anyone after the coaching change. I don't like it that nobody on the staff even contacted him. Kind of a ****** thing to do to a kid who has given his commitment to your program. If he wasn't the right fit due to a change in direction of the recruitment of the position, fine. At least give him the respect of a conversation.

Is it possible that the new staff does not know about him? I am not sure how they keep track of this stuff, even after coaching changes.

Mitchell Meyers who was retained would know about any recruits under the old coaching staff

It's not a coincidence that the guys that aren't hearing from us are the guys who arent that good.

Ok, good to know. Just wasn't sure if maybe some names got erased off the board so to say during the change. Overall it seems odd, that we would not call to talk to the recruit, even if it is to say we are no longer interested. Not sure how this will look on the staff with others in the recruiting world or other high schoolers.

Wow that sucks. Hope he can land at another P5 program.

Maybe the staff just hadn't got to him yet.

It literally takes 5 minutes to call someone, introduce yourself, thank them for their commitment, and let them know that you want to have a further conversation but just trying to handle everything. With the energy level this coaching staff has shown thus far, that doesn't seem like too much of a task.

I think a "reporter" reached out to him and got that news. Could be wrong but he's been quoted saying he hadn't heard from anyone on the new staff so decided to de-commit.

What's the staff supposed to say? You can stay committed for now until we land someone better?
