Somewhere in the U.S.
ISU played their best half of basketball all year and only won by 1 pt at home :spinny:

You really don't know many actual facts, do you....or do you just choose to ignore them?

As for the original question in this thread......I would have to go with Monte. If I had to start a team made up of all the players at the 4 Division I schools in Iowa.....there is no doubt in my mind I would start with him. Anyone who wouldn't really doesn't know much about college basketball, imho.

Thanks anyway Squawks but I think I'll stick with Niang as the best player...He can actually win you games when the spotlight is the brightest. Morris would get consideration...Uthoff? Go get Niang a juice box! Make yourself useful.

Other coaches have already tried that on us. It doesn't work. Sorry not my "revolutionary tactic". Phrom was the first to do it against Iowa second half. MSU did it the second half of second game but too late.....the rest of the Big 10 until Maryland too stupid to figure it out. Hawks all 3's..........live by em die by em......

Maryland is a good team but highly over rated IMO. Until Iowa they haven't defeated a team with a higher RPI than 60? Tell met that story after they beat an Oklahoma, ISU, or Kansas on the road.

Didn't Maryland beat us last year?

Niang has no one in his league in Iowa or any state that borders Iowa. The only question that should be asked is if uthoff is even better than Monte Morris? I say no.

I still stand by this, but Monte gets closer to Georges every game.

What ever happened to Wes Washpan being the best player in the state? Wasn't that a thing after we lost to UNI?

I was just busting his chops. Thought it was kind of funny that some think it is just easy shutting down the opponents best players.

BTW what does it have to do with Gesell or Iowa even? I was making the greater point, that teams always try to take away the opponents best players, it is the basic game plan for every single team.

Yes but teams try with players like Georges Niang and Buddy Hield but they still get theirs. That is what makes a great not just a good player.

Sick of hearing about Trimble. Guy might have talent, but he hasn't put it all together yet, and quite honestly doesn't belong in the same category as Monte. Statistics and common sense back me up on this one. Trimble has great games, but just as often he disappears and has mediocre games.

Um...ISU hasn't beat those teams on the road. ISU's best road win is Cinci ( 56 rpi)or maybe KSU (50rpi). They have good home wins but you gotta win on the road also.
