Re: MONDAY MUINGS: The greatness of Georges Niang becoming more clear

I frankly hate the idea. Georges deserves to be honored as a senior with his classmates and deserves a separate, individual, ceremony for his own achievements that he can soak in with his family and possibly even wife and children.

Is the can't play on Sunday a huge problem as well for BYU? I'm not in favor of adding them. I don't like the westerly, super-long distance expansion unless it's needed to "save" the conference.

The day they hang George Niang's jersey in Hilton is the day I will be there.

I appreciate in your tweet, CW, pointing out that these are the most successful years in ISU bball history. I know there are subjectives to that, but these young men have won A LOT of ball games.

I think both Georges and Melvin are just about the ideal athletes to have their jersey's hung (by stats, winning, etc).

I LOVE Hoiberg and his story...but I don't see how Georges or Ejim are below his on/off court accomplishments.

Thanks for the mu-ings. Georges is definitely a legend in his own time. He is a wonderful ambassador for the university and my all-time favorite Cyclone.

The jersey is going up. I like the idea of just getting it done, but having a special day dedicated just to Georges makes a lot of sense. That's probably the way to go, so do it next year.

Here is a compromise: Hang "Big Georges" from the rafters!

The Texas Tech loss was never a bad loss. Congrats hok-centric media for getting that one going.

It would be perfect to hang #31 in 2017 when the hoks come to town.

This is an interesting piece, but I don't remember the big 12 playing a conference game (speaking to FB and BB that is) on a Sunday in recent memory, so I doubt that would be a factor that would sway any decisions.

Hey, Mr. Moderator. Could you please fix the thread title to musings instead of muings? It is starting to bug me.

To honor Georges on senior night would be to take away some of the recognition that the other seniors deserve on their night.

Jim Ross is awesome.

Best Dunk contest since Jordan and Dominique. And I thought the dunk contest was dead.

Re: MONDAY MUINGS: The greatness of Georges Niang becoming more clear

So Fizer and Tinsley's jerseys will never be hung because they didn't graduate?

Is that the same at other schools? Will Kentucky never hang any jersey's of players from the last 6 years that were one or two and done?

Did Jordan graduate? I'm guessing UNC hung that regardless. Many other examples.

Hadn't thought of this, but it is imperative that Big Georges makes his way to Cyclone Alley for Senior Night on 2/29. Anybody who knows how to make that happen - please do!

There is a difference though. At ISU we have only retired numbers. Whereas other schools retire numbers for the extra special players and retire jerseys for great players. The retired jersey have less restrictions on them than the retired numbers.
