Wth? Hawkeye nation? Have you read what I have said? Don't bring the sqwaks into this. Not the case. So let me get it right....its McCay or McKay? By the time I learn it he will be gone like Deanna Kane and Bruce Deyshaun Jackson
Shooter McGavin eats IluvISU for breakfast.

At this point, the best plan is to have no expectations until the NCAAs start. I just want to get there and play the big one.
this team has no chance of any ncaa run- they have no post presence and play no defense. same problem they have had in conference play incredibly disppointing season starting wiht the uab loss, they still haven't learned.

Don't know why people are flipping out? Baylor was favored to win and ISU had a shot to win at the end. I swear some people expect them to never lose. Baylor is a bad matchup for ISU and its on the road and they are a top 25 team. get over it people

This x100. Plus if you haven't figured out by now that nothing that happens right now really matters you're not doing yourself any favors. ISU will win out at home, lose at WVU and KU and then the real season begins.

Last year's team got swept by Baylor and the year before we lost by double digits in Waco

Lot of the first half turnovers were too well defended by Baylor when he lobbed the ball. He played a solid game except for the last seven seconds of regulation.

Exactly and I think both road games left will probably be close again. If they pull one out then it's just bonus for seeding purposes

Matt Thomas 1-6 three pointers.....so sick of the commentators saying he is a "good shooter" just because he is a honkie.
He did play good defense though....not bagging on him. just miss Naz or what this type of team needs. A shooter.

Uhhh he's shooting .427 from 3 this season which is 2nd on the team behind Burton's .448 and Thomas has taken about 5 times as many 3's than Burton has so I guess he's not a good shooter because he had an off night?

But I guess it's time to make Thomas the whipping boy again like so many did the past 2 seasons? Give this kid a break, he's shown a HUGE improvement this season and his confidence seems sky high. I am fine with him taking shots as long as they are good looks. Even Naz had bad nights like that, go back last year and he had a 1-7 2-10 0-5 another 1-7 amongst some of his poor 3 point shooting games.

The story remains the same. Too many close games at the end.

We aren't gonna blow good teams out on the road. It's not about close games, it's about giving the ball to our best player down the stretch in these close games - and we didn't last night. Niang needs to touch it every possession last 3-4 minutes.

we need a true big man in the middle, baylor was abusing the lane late in the game

Go back and watch the replay. Baylor guys were camped out in the lane for 7 to 11 seconds over and over. That's tough to defend. It got so bad that several of us in our section started counting out loud hoping the ref would call it but never did. Baylor did a good job of getting behind Burton and McKay underneath, but easy to do when they never had to leave the lane all night.

Our collective expectations are way too high for a team without Naz.

Has nothing to do with expectations, watching this team is frustrating, not fun. It's like every game is filled with tension. I'd actually say my expectations are pretty low at this point, because no matter what kind of lead ISU builds, I'm usually on pins and needles just waiting for it to dwindle away in a few possessions.

Also, I'm not trying to pin this on the players. I'm not like some on here who want to bash this guy or that guy. I'm just stating how I feel. This year, it's becoming a chore to watch games. I feel terrible for the seniors on this team, they are the ones who really suffer the most.

And his 2.47 three pointers per game is second best in the conference behind only Buddy Hield. Not bad for someone shooting 3s at over 40%. Thomas certainly has been a very good shooter this year.

So tired of losing to Drew and Baylor. When TTech swiped them at Waco by 20, I thought we could win. Not.

Really hope this team gets it figured out, but man this is getting frustrating to sit through. Just hate watching the same guys making the same mistakes at the same point in games. I think Prohm may wind up being a fine coach, but right now I think he's getting out coached every night. Sharp learning curve in the Big 12.

As many close game, last second wins we had last year, we are seeing the other side this year. 3 OT losses in conference play.

This team is exactly the same as last year. And might be improved actually because we are missing Naz and basically the Big 12 DPOY in McKay. And we are still ranked in the top 15.

Let's keep some perspective here.
