You know right about the time that ISU had cut the game to 7 and was rolling?

That 'foul' changed the course of the game. I would have really like to see what would have happened if Georges wasn't forced out of the game right there.

He was lucky not to have gotten called for a coupe of fouls too. But then again, he was unlucky on some fouls.

Anyway, even if we hadn't got that 4th foul, I doubt the result would be all that different. We were clearly the second best team. Hypothetical what ifs are about as imaginative as Hawk fans' hypothetical neutral court matchups against ISU.

We lost because Virginia is an outstanding team. We would have needed to be almost perfect to beat them. Some questionable calls, but we simply got beat by a very good team

You are correct. And then when Gill rode him like a bronco the next possession without a whistle made it worse. However with that said, had Niang been called for some of what he did in the first half he may not of been in the game at that moment. Very inconsistent.

Yes it did impact the game. Niang was our difference maker. They couldn't stop him and we were making a run. Officials took that into their own hands to stop us

I think the fact that ISU had the game down to 7 when a phantom 4th foul was called would disagree with you. Yeah - that 14-1 run certainly didn't help matters, but down to 7 with momentum - and then the refs blow a call, Niang has to sit, and it immediately goes back to double digits.

Absolutely it would have been nice to see the game without that call, but that's the life when you play without a bench. With the minutes these guys play you're gonna get called at some point.

Prohm's mission has to be to get 9 or 10 contributors in order to avoid this. We've been sensitive to foul calls all season because it affected us so much more than a team that can sit a starter and not have a huge dropoff.

Yeah, Virginia probably would have gone on a 9-2 run even if Niang wasn't on the bench.....

Awful call, he bumped him on the floor a bit, but nothing on the shot. These refs weren't the reason we lost, but with VA being red hot that first half the only chance we had was Niang doing what he did vs OU in the tourney. Refs robbed us of that chance. But we had other chances to cut it closer and didn't capitalize.
