With ISU's talent already on scholarship in the athletic department they could throw together the first Division 1 Baseketball team.
My brother played at Iowa State back in the day before he blew his ACL. For the actual Cap Timm.
I think it is a shame that All-American Gary Thompson will likely die before ever seeing ISU have baseball again.
I was sad when great Cyclones Pete Taylor and Johnny Orr died. I will be doubly sad when Gary goes. I don't believe any human ever did as much for Cyclone athletics as that man has.
I was very proud of my ISU grad because he saw Gary Thompson in his first month on campus and texted me to show me a picture of him and the "Roland Rocket." He hit all of the highlights that first month, the Hoibergs sat by him at church and he got the old "peace be with you" from the Mayor and he ran into Simon Estes at Panera. They should have just handed him a degree at that point.
Who are we trying to fire up with the entrance song?
If the players are not fired up coming out of the locker room, then someone should check their pulse to make sure we are not wasting a scholarship on a corpse.
So then we are left to firing up both the fan in the stands, and maintaining the fire of the players and coaches on the field.
I won't make a suggestion here. I will trust MC and coaches in consultation with Pollard & etc. to make a determination. Obviously the use of any song not liked by the fans in the stands could distance some of the fan base.
