Way up there
I do agree that the ranking will drop as other schools fill their classes. That said, it will still likely be ISU's highest ranked class since the 70's. And, they have a good shot at getting a couple 4 star/high 3 star players like Kam White, Marquis Hayes, KJ Hamler, MJ Webb. The good thing is that they have most of the class full, so they can focus on some big fish and really focus in on need positions.

Campbell is definitely on the right track...just keep stacking good classes together and the wins will come.

They can also focus on '18/'19 etc..they already one '18 commit and have gotten some positive comments from a handful of others. People have mentioned how, at least on the surface, this staff seems to enjoy recruiting more than the last staff. That is huge because recruiting never stops, this staff seems tireless and that hard work is paying off. That energy and enthusiasm seems to be seeping into the fan base as well, I expect JTS to be as electric as its ever been when UNI comes to town.

I am so pumped that CMC actually thinks he can win here! He recruits like that is an established fact and it shows to these playes - this guy expects to win and compete at highest levels. Now I see what JP was up to - you have to believe a thing before you can make a thing. Sadly PR lost that along the way. Matt Campbell - thanks for saying yes - we are loyal fans who just want to go to Florida or Arizona for a January bowl game. Can you get us out of this winter malaise? No more Nashville or Shreveport or Detroit or NYC - can you get us to Jacksonville, Orlando or San Diego maybe? Just asking.

Kind of a trollish post. Personally, I don't restrict my winter plans to what the football team is doing. If they make a bowl game, great, but I'm not staying in the cold all winter if they don't. Most bowl locations are not all that great of vacation destinations anyway. I'd rather go to the Caribbean, Mexico or Hawaii than Phoenix or Orlando.

WTF is going on. Does CMC ask guys before anyone else and hope they don't get any more looks or do guys get excited and then realize we're Iowa State and back out?

This is a disturbing trend.

edit - i don't see that tweet anywhere on his profile?

I agree. But TBH, if I was a kid and hadn't taken any of my officials yet but had signed somewhere, I would still take my 5 officials. You are only allowed to do that once in a life time, and why not use what is offered to you? It is scary for us, because we want him to be fully invested in the cyclones (and he very well could be) but I understand his decision to use his officials.

ok i get that reasoning 100% but isn't it like getting engaged and then going on dates with other women, "just to be sure"?

I've been engaged and disengaged and I assure you that it is nothing alike. If this kid has to put up with I did during that process I'd be very surprised. I don't think CMC is going to be slashing this kids tires or calling the police over 100 times for no reason if he decides to go elsewhere. This is business.

Guys, it's time to adjust your expectations of recruit behavior. This is the way things are playing out these days.

This is reality of recruiting today...Auburn has commits taking all their OV as will many other kids from diff programs...Lazard took all of his. This is what happens when you actually get commits early and they are wanted by others..not a bad problem to have.

Just gotta have backup options ready in case they commit, decide to take all their other OVs, and then decommit.

If the commits are solid some of the coaches actually encourage the OV's in order to find out from the kids what the other schools' "pitches" are. "What are the other schools offering?" "What did they do during the visit?" "What was good/bad?"

He only took two, one to ISU and one to Notre Dame

I'm think some people need to realize these commits are kids and it think it would be foolish not to take some official visits. We just never had to worry about this type of situation under are last coaching staff. All this means is we are in early on some good talent

While I was not a recruited athlete, I did make one of my visits to Iowa. I had absolutely no intentions of going there but I was interested in a certain freshman there.
