You are right, guarantee, was not the correct word choice there. I just think it goes the same way thinking that he did it because of those people at West Point chose to go to war. Just a dumb argument.How can you or any of us "guarantee" what Noah's intentions or motives were? We can (& obviously are going to) speculate, but that is just an odd statement, IMO.
Noah's decision is not too dissimilar to the protests we often see groups gathering for. Personally, I don't think those things will ever effect much change, but it's the right of the protester(s) to do so, if they find the cause worthy.
I completely agree with you that these protest won't truly do what they are trying to do. It won't change anything, but it is like the Kneeling protest. It is at least gets people talking. And I think it is being talked about more, because it was West Point, rather than him not showing up to a random team dinner.
