what does it come down to? Is it location and scenery that's keeping us back? Is there not enough to do in Ames?
Wright is not that good. Move on.So this is looking like another recruit that a staff has put 90% of there attention on (Vaughn and Diallo) only to have that kid go somewhere else. They should have taken McKinley Wright when they had the chance of they wanted a high school PG.
Why do you think this? Sure, more schools are going the rout of looking for transfers and JuCo's than there were when Fred started, but there has also been a large rise in transfers and grad-transfers since that time as well. Will every one be a Royce White? No, but if we can get the Abdels and Chris Babbs', I'd be completely content. What was looking like a great 5 recruit early signing period, is now looking like maybe just 2. That really does put us behind the 8 ball with 6 scholarships to fill.
I'm all for getting transfers and grad transfers, but let's face it, it's not the same as it was 4 or 5 years ago. I'm certain we can get a couple, but it's highly unlikely we will land one of the really good ones.
Our boosters don't do a good enough job of exploiting the suffering, underprivileged people in Third World Countries.facilities- check

Agree but I'm more thinking in a broader sense what appeals to HS recruits. We don't seem to have a problem with transfers that take their career more seriously. Maybe a better music scene in campus? When Peoples left nothing really replaced itIn this case:

I really think it's just lack of coaching notoriety. At this time two years ago, Prohm was at a school called Murray State.facilities- check

Also, the IRS should stop harassing Donald Trump and focus on Phil Knight and his stupid, puffy eyes. You're not overreacting:

A flicker of hope?Halsted said it is not a done deal, but all signs are certainly pointing that way the last couple of days
Let's face it. Kids these days just don't care that much about the taste and quality of their drinking water like they used to.Agree but I'm more thinking in a broader sense what appeals to HS recruits. It takes time and success to build your reputation to a point where you can really go after, and sign, the recruits you want. It's obvious Prohm is able to get in with some great players. The next step is being able to consistently get them to buy into your program enough to commit their next four years of playing here.
A couple more years of success, with Prohm's players, then I think he'll be at that level. If there's any negative recruiting other coaches are using against Prohm right now, it's that he's winning with Fred's recruits.
Or who knows, maybe he really clicked with the Oregon players, and they're now best friends. It really could be anything with these kids.
