10-4. On to the next one. Just glad missed bunnies and free throws didn't bite us.
Very happy for Matt hitting that game closer.

Way up there
Two weeks ago I'd have been happy with a 2-1 start, I still am, splitting road games next week would be huge with you know who coming to town after that

Well Merrill Holden didn't see any time in a game that he may have done some good things defensively. Bowie had some nice active hands. But man is he terrible in the open court. NWB had a bad game but was offset by good Deonte tonight. Overall good game that the guys thought was in the bag too early.

2-1 after the first 3 game mini-season of conference play. I'll take it every time.

And closing out when things got tight late. That was new.

I know this is the oldest team in the history of basketball or whatever the local high school announcers were saying, but I'm not sure if the all senior line up is their best or most fluid and it looks like that still may be getting worked out; this can be good or bad.

I've seen nothing from Holden to make me think he would have done "some good things". He picks up 1 foul per minute.

Jakolby Long is averaging only 1ppg less than Holden.

This team is just so confusing to me. We just play very ugly basketball for the most part, but yet at times you get the feeling that if we ever put it all together we'd be extremely dangerous. Then at other times we look like the Bad News Bears of college basketball and can't get out of our own way.

Game to game I have no idea what to predict from this group at all. Most of it depends on if we get the good Deonte or the bad Deonte probably. If we get good Deonte and we get good outside shooting from Naz and Matty Ice, I think we can beat anyone. If we get bad Deonte and Naz and Matt struggle from the outside, then bad teams like Iowa can beat us. It's an uneasy feeling.

I always felt like with Niang we'd always be pretty competitive. I don't get that feeling with these guys at all.

Home from the game. Overall I was pleased; I felt like we played a complete game (minus the free throws). Good to see we had an answer every time Texas went on a run. They've got some good young athletes who can shoot. Also feels good to close out a game like that!

Can't wait to see how we fare on the road next week.

This team is undoubtedly competitive....what happens the remainder of the season could go a lot of ways, and that's to be expected with the way today went in the Big 12.

They got duped at Iowa but who cares?

Niang was on some teams that got beat soundly, including at Iowa his freshman year, and the '14-15 team felt similar to this one in that you just weren't quite sure what was coming minute by minute...the expectations were blown up that year and still are for some fans this year.

Was hoping the team would show they figured something out other than Burton can put up numbers against freshman. Not as optimistic as some cause I don't think the rematch will end well for us.

You may be right about what happens at Texas but Burton scored 29 vs. Gonzaga and tonight was a nice step for him. It needs to continue.

Another thought--Morris does it again, from my perspective anyway, with having an incredible game without it looking like it--I wouldn't have guessed he had 20/10/6.

If Texas shoots like they normally do, we would have won going away. They'll be better later in the year, so we'll have to be too.

Loved Deonte's approach tonight- attacked the lane and passed up some decent shots for better ones for himself or his teammates. When he is playing like this, with great shot selection and finding open guys, ISU is going to be tough to beat.
I really love watching Jackson out there. His intensity on D is so awesome and his ball pressure has been key to some big runs the last three games.
