But the problem is everyone is all worked up about "fixing" this issue like it can be fixed right now. We need to figure out how to win IN SPITE of this issue. Accept what we are, every team has weaknesses, exploit them like they are going to exploit ours. We're doing a great job of turning people over, extend the press, make teams play in press break/secondary break mode to nullify the big guys in the half court where we're susceptible.

People need to let go of our size problem this team isn't getting any bigger the rest of this year. Whether we win or lose, there's a good chance the other teams big guy or guys in KU's case had a good game. Accept it.

Exactly this.

If anything, I think there have been times were we tried to create a post game when it's not a strength of ours this year. We just don't have a post scorer. I'd rather see us use the paint as a way to swing the ball around quicker and get the defense chasing us and then looking to score if it's open.

If we take advantage of even a few more KU turnovers we win that game. KU is really good at getting back when they turn it over so fair play to them but we were right there and I'd argue that some smarter, more composed basketball from us nullifies everything hat KU's bigs did and we win that game.

I disagree with CW's assertion that game wasn't as close at it looked. We were toes off the ledge we just couldn't jump off.

No one thinks we'll have a post scorer this year. As usual Gunner's comprehension has failed him.

We'll have to synthesize a way to better play in the paint on both ends to make the tournament. It's possible we can't and won't make it. Which is why the talk about improving the interior play has been just as much about learning from past mistakes to put better future rosters together. We'd all hate to see the same missed opportunities we've had recently due to continual voids in certain assets.

I don't see the merit in quoting Young's stats in recent games when he's hardly gotten any PT. I see a lot of effort and potential with him and would like to see Prohm use him more. From my standpoint, it's a really tough spot for Prohm, and he has to think about the games late in the season as well as right now - which is where we fans usually focus (the "now"). The big question to me is what to do with Deonte. How frustrating for a coach to see all that potential be tapped so intermittently.

I can understand the upside, but the downside is too low when Deonte's the "big" in the game - no D played or effort given whatsoever, except for few blocked shots here and there. It's my sense that Prohm's trying to have his cake and eat it too with Deonte - trying to hope he can get more of the outstanding O to cover up for the D, while having four other guards in the game. Would be great if that could work, but I think we need to have one of Bowie, Young, or even Holden (I'd go more Young myself) in the game at all times, unless Deonte is on fire on O and actually getting after it on D.

Really, just a few stops. More pressure on the ball, better separation/anticipation of the post lob. It may not have felt that close, but it certainly wasn't that far either. One solid run would have made it a back and forth one possession game for whatever time remained.

Nice job of saying exactly what I just said about 27 minutes ago. You're obviously a Gregg popovich level basketball mind.

You're saying the same things I'm saying just in a much more emo I'm 14 and so so sad way like we're a terrible basketball team.

I was part of the derailment, but we should probably let this get back to a recruiting thread, eh?
If we count Lard, there's one big guy, although he clearly has to improve some to be better than what we have. I can't recall the last guy that improved that much in 9 months, but we'll see. In addition to the 4 we are adding, imo we need to sign help in both the backcourt and frontcourt- guys that can come in and play at a high Big 12 level. It's quite the challenge for Prohm.

That was a problem in both losses, TCU and KU. They failed to take advantage of all the TOs they forced.

I can't figure out a different way to describe it. There's a vocal section of CF that is convinced and totally believes we won't win another game after every loss. That is the definition of an emo.

No there really isn't.

You take any criticism and project onto them these feelings.

Any calls for recruiting big men are met with snarky comments about "plodders" by you.

You could argue that you're an emo when it comes to big men.

Just promise you won't be too mad when we make the tournament. There's a pretty much guaranteed loss somewhere in that format so chin up the whiners will get the last say on the season barring the miraculous.

I'd say:
Jackson
Wigginton
Weiler-Babb
Young
Kasango

Long
Lewis
Lard
Carter

That is as of today. I do expect 1 post grad or JC player being added and starting/top 7 of the rotation. (possibly 2)
