Really hoping someone will draft him, he's worked so hard and made such huge strides as an all around ball player its hard to imagine there are 60 more talented/deserving players eligible.

If someone drafted Nader, they could draft Burton.

Deonte mentioned on the call-in show last week that he wants to buy every house he lived in as a child then renovate them as means to help upgrade the neighborhoods he lived in.

Best Deonte? Here's hoping for another banked-in 3-pointer for a big win.

On another note, where would we be without players from WI?

I have really enjoyed watching Deonte and will definitely miss his play. And while I don't want to break it down to good Deonte/bad Deonte, I will say that if he should get really hot for a 6 to 8 game period, this team can beat anyone and will probably go far in the tourney.

Last season in Waco I took a signature ball w/ me that my daughter had gotten me for my birthday. I stood courtside before the game started and Deonte was the first to approach me. I said, "Thanks for being a Cyclone" when he finished signing it. He stopped like I'd just slapped him and he turned back to me and said, "Are you kidding me? Being a Cyclone is the greatest thing that's happened to me!" Love the kid! That letter he wrote is simply awesome. A deep run in the tourney would be icing on an already great cake!

Tonight is going to be something. I'm not sure how tough it will be for everyone but it's not going to be easy. For some reason these guys feel like they were so important in this transition. With the exception of Matt, they all had easy ways out of a moderately tough situation and chose to help this place transition.

100% true. He can play football for one year. His basketball eligibility is expired. Campbell asked him if he wanted to but Deonte said no thanks. ESPN reported this during a game over the last couple weeks. I can't remember which one exactly.

Even if he doesn't make it in the NBA he's going to make bank playing overseas. I can see where he might be a little intrigued but when the rubber hits the road, why would he risk a potential career ending injury when he can just get started with the next phase of his life? Risk/reward.

It's been a lot of fun watching this group grow as BB players and young men. I wish them all nothing but the best. Good luck to them all. I'm pretty sure it will be dusty in Hilton tonite doggone it. What a great letter Deonte put out.

I'm almost glad i'm not going to be there tonight. I was able to drive over from Illinois last year for Senior night and that was rough. These 4 though.......a very very special group.

Stevie Johnson did it during the LE days. Played his 4 years in basketball and then played one for Mac.

I thought they said that Burton approached Campbell, thought about it but decided to move forward with his life.
