I think it is good we had an average game, a better team will show up against Purdue.

Actually I think Nevada was over seeded, really unimpressed. Not sure where the 2 or 3 pros were on Nevada. There isn't an NBA player on Nevada, I have no idea what everyone was talking about. Maybe some Europe type guys but nothing even close to NBA level. Clones played their worst half since Texas and still won going away.

I like the Purdue matchup a lot, reminds me of those clods from Notre Dame a few years ago. Slow, no idea how Purdue can guard anyone we have.

MTSU over Minnesota was the easiest 5-12 upset pick ever. Those guys are morons for their pick. We won by 9 with probably a C performance and some really ridiculous shots falling for Nevada.

Yep. We didn't play well at all - in fact I'd say it was the sloppiest game since we lost at Texas. I throw out @WV as that was a mugging/jobbing. Yet we found a way to win and had some clutch plays from a ton of guys.

I just love this team, especially down the stretch. I want for them to win so badly that it kills me when we have stretches of playing like junk. We really didn't in KC and it was awesome. Need to find that again.

Exactly; this was very different from the last month of play. Hope we got the sloppy one out of the way; we're gonna need to tighten up for Purdue

You go from playing teams that you know inside and out every night to a random team you wouldn't even watch play on a Sunday night on the U. But it's equal for both teams and it's a big reason why upsets happen so frequently in the tourney.

Beyond Swanigan for Saturday Purdue wont be as athletic as that Nevada team was so we should feel a little better about the match up on Saturday.

What about Swanigan and Haas ?? - I think Burton and Young are gonna have tough assignments. Hope Burton doesn't have to sit early with 2 in the first half.

Really, it's 10<14. Don't want to get called out for bad math skills. But bigger isn't always better...especially between the leagues in basketball this year. Purdue will definitely be bigger, we will just be better.

F that let's enjoy a full day of upsets tomorrow while we sit pretty.

Damn straight. I was nervous all day, I was nervous in the second half when it got down to five. I won't go to sleep for another three hours because I'm all jacked up.

I'm going to watch 12 hours of hoops tomorrow and enjoy every minute of it stress free.

Tomorrow should be Upset Day. Nice to get the win before that breaks out.

There were some nervous moments, but we answered every run. In previous years, we had to play nearly perfect to win. Now we have a decent defense to help us out when we go haywire on offense. Monte wasn't in top form and had 19, 8 and 8. We're a really good team, and I expect us to look it against Purdue. It seems like we play better against teams with more traditional styles. Nevada was not that. I expect us to get plenty of clean looks. Just have to knock them down.

Win, and advance. Good work boys.

This game reminded me earlier in the year with polarizing halves, and stagnant O.

I'm not too concerned about the turnovers...because ISU won! LOL. That 1st half was played at a crazy pace. I wonder how it ranked with total possessions for ISU compared to the average game this year. Perhaps the sheer possessions and tempo played a role with the sloppiness.

That game was proof that Nevada is a pretty similar mirrored team to ISU. No F's are given when it comes to shooting the 3 ball with those guys. Probably more so than ISU.

I was really not impressed with Vermont in their title game last weekend, but was surprised by their effort today. For a bit there I was getting convinced ISU or Nevada was going to get a gift opponent.

What are you even talking about. We had them at arm's length the entire game. The better team won and decisively.
I get what you are saying but anytime a team gets within 2 possesions late in the 2nd is not a never in doubt game. Doesn't matter, good win, survive and advance. We were the better team, TO's made it closer than needed.
