I had a black and decker weed trimmer for a while . What a turd, wouldn't even cut grass over 6 inches . Went in the trash after re battery would only last ten minutes . Not that hard to mix gas when you live on an acreage and alll your two cycle tools use the same mix . Sure electric is bad ass for your small lawns but if your in any rural setting you couldn't pay me to take one .

I think that's kind of the point here. There are obviously markets for both! I just bought a new house with like a .25 acre lawn. My old Lawn mower died, so I bought a greenworks pro 80v self propelled mower this week to pair with my Greenworks pro 80v electric snowblower! Haven't even had a chance to use the mower yet!

But..for my little lawn, I can get this mower that I can fold up and stand on end for more room in my garage. In addition, I have a Ryobi 40v trimmer (I bought before I went greenworks for the other small tools) and I'm thinking about buying a Greenworks pro 80v Blower as well!

For an acreage though...I def understand gas powered...especially if all your other small engine tools can run the same 2 cycle mixture. Much easier.

Not exactly sure.
Once again, buy a four cycle and you won't have to mix oil. Uses the heavier string so it won't yank out or kill the trimmer on chain link.

Ya id hate to have to buy a $40 battery every four years. Just lol. Enjoy draining your gas and mixing oil and pulling your start cord and putting string in Meanwhile Ill be enjoying my battery operated Master Race life.

1. Fuel stabilizer like Stabil and gas is good for at least a year.
2. How much rocket science do you think it is to mix oil? Just like the stabilizer, squeeze the bottle until the fluid hits the right line, dump it in the gas can, then fill the gas can up at the gas station. Voila - stabilizer and oil is mixed in the gas.
3. Handheld electric starter. I never pull a string.

Just got a 80v Kobalt string trimmer and used it for the first time this weekend. Live on 1.5 acre with lots of landscaping and got through it all on 1 battery (not sure how much juice is left). It definitely doesn't have the power of gas, but works well for trimming grass (which I believe 98% of people use it for). Struggled when I took it to weeds that were > 1.5 feet high though.

I got the blower as well and have been 'blown away' by how useful it has been. 3 different speeds allow you to control it better than my old 1 stage electric plug in.

I'm looking for battery powered trimmer for my home after the gas one my dad gave me died. Any recommendations for a 0.25 acre lot that gets cut 1-2 times a week?? Preferably not spending at fortune either
