I've always had hunting dogs, so the only effect that the fireworks are having is to make my dog think that someone is shooting the hell out of ducks and pheasants. He thinks it's the opener and we're missing out.I should have started up a dog psychiatric clinic as it seems all dogs in IA now have PTSD. I am a dog lover, a contributor to shelters, and an owner myself. But c'mon people. The dogs will be fine.
Well, as previously stated, someone in the neighborhood was lighting fireworks. Fireworks make a big boom noise, and these big boom noises were preventing me from sleeping. If you have to work early, why are you on here complaining?
So just because fireworks are legal, noise ordinances are still in effect. If you have an issue with neighbors being jackasses, one up them and report a noise violation.
I would think that would be superseded in some way by the fireworks law.
There are a lot a whiners in here. I haven't bought fireworks since high school 15+ years ago but it's the same type of enjoyment people get from going and seeing the city fireworks on the 4th. Plenty of you probably enjoy going to see those right? The Ankeny ordinance lasts from 9AM to 11PM. I'm sure most places around DM are similar. I'm sure y'all can handle it a week or two out of the entire year.

You are wise old man!I should have started up a dog psychiatric clinic as it seems all dogs in IA now have PTSD. I am a dog lover, a contributor to shelters, and an owner myself. But c'mon people. The dogs will be fine.
I'm sure police officers would tell the people to stop calling about it. Police have more important things to deal with than fireworks.Saw a snapchat of a police officers computer in Urbandale of all the complaints last night, had to be over 100 lol
