Thanks for posting. I will stick with my prediction ... DJ, LW, NWB, SY and JB. I do not agree that young and Lard can stretch the floor. If they are shooting 3's or long 2's we will be in trouble.

I think Lard has the ability to stretch the floor in a different way because he's so darn fast. He can draw defense to the lane on the break or secondary break which creates space for the guards. That being said, I agree with you. I think SY are Lard are probably better off rotating rather than being on the court at the same time.

I have a feeling Lewis is going to be starting over Babb at some point this season. Unless Babb makes some huge leap between now and the season.

Or Babb is the starter for defensive reasons, Lewis is the spark off the bench who might end up with the same or more minutes as Babb though without starting.

So we have people on here saying Lewis will end up starting this year at some point over Babb due to watching CCL highlights? WOW.... it must be summer.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but NWB knows he's being counted on as "the guy" this year. Do you think he might just be taking it a bit easy in the CCL? I doubt he cares much about this league, and that's a good thing. I doubt Prohm even wants him playing in it.

If Lewis ends up starting over NWB at some point, that's fine, but please don't make the stupid mistake of making that statement from watching one minute video clips of the CCL.

Well to be fair we haven't really seen NWB prove he's capable of being "the guy". How many minutes did he even play last year?

How many has Lewis played for ISU, yet some on here predict at some point he'll be starting over NWB based on a few mins of CCL video. People need to just get a grip over the CCL. We say it every single year, but people don't listen.

Remember.... Sherron Dorsey-Walker once scored 63 pts, or whatever insane amount it was, in the CCL once and everyone freaked out and anointed him as the next "best player ever in ISU history". How'd that turn out again?

Nobody anointed him anything. I think you confuse commenting on players with acting like they are going to be the 'best player ever in Iowa State history'.

I've watched NWB and Lewis in the CCL and while everyone knows you can't draw a lot of conclusions from the CCL, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Lewis plays more than NWB does at some point next year.

Ok, just so I'm clear then, you are indeed basing this off of the CCL. You just said it yourself. Good. Because the CCL is so reliable for determining these things as we've known from the past. I've played in rec leagues with better defense than is in the CCL, but go right ahead if it makes feel knowledgeable.

Have you ever watched actual games in the CCL? An educated fan can watch those games and get some idea of what is to come from players. Its not about the number of points scored or the monster dunks. But you can gain some insight. For example, anyone who watched games after Georges and Naz's freshman year could tell that Naz was going to turn out to be a good player and a great leader. This year, I've been impressed that Jackson has shown up to play every week and is a good teammate. One of the things that we lost that not many are talking about is great leadership. Its pretty important that Jackson take up the roles that Monte, Naz, and Matt had.

But, as for my comment, I couldn't have been more wishy-washy if I tried. So I'm not sure why you are acting high and mighty about it. I said that by watching them, you could see a possibility that Lewis might play more. That's all. I'm not predicting that Lewis will play more. Hell, every time someone is on here bashing Babb, I have the same explanation about how his decrease in playing time is not indicative of his potential for next year. As far as Lewis goes, he just looks smooth and glides out there. If you haven't seen it, it is easy to dismiss it.

Final Standings are:
Doerrfeld Promotions 6-1 (Young, Lewis)
Lions Club 4-3 (Beverly, Wigginton)
Sparta Waste Mmgt 4-3 (Shayok, Lard)
Hannah Homes 4-3 (Jacobson, Long)
Hinterland 3-4 (Jackson)
JayTees 0-7 (Babb, Hutchinson)

Playoffs start on Sunday at 4:30. The Sparta team is going to be a tough out. They are really playing well the last couple of games.

I think that I'm most surprised and impressed by Lions Club and in turn Beverly. They must have had some Drake or other players helping on that team since Wiggington was basically doing bigger and better things. His highlight videos really looked like a hard worker and got things done but is never going to be flashy.

Beverly hasn't played a second.
