Didn't get to walk Z into preschool since that lot was full.
She seemed to deal with it OK. Calm, scared, but generally her "roll with it" thing.

Get a phone call just now while working. Don't know the #, so I'm planning to blow it off, but let the "maybe it's someone from the school" thing get me.

Nope. Telemarketer, stupid call on my part. Hung up, ticked off, and ready to read again.

Got a postcard with 7th grader's bus assignment late last week. Inexplicably it went from being the pickup she has had since kindergarten half a block away (in view of our house) to a new location about 3 blocks away (out of view of our house). This didn't seem right so Mrs. Velo called the bus company. They said there were a lot of changes this year and that this was correct. Mrs. Velo asked about the bus she took before both by bus number and stop location. Nope, that wasn't happening this year.

Mrs. Velo watched a whole mess of kids from 7th grader's school get on her old bus at the old stop this morning. 7th grader informed Mrs. Velo that she was the only kid from her school on the new bus. Mrs. Velo not amused.

I got moved from a cubicle to an office a couple of weeks ago. Still cleaning out drawers from the cubicle and can't figure out why I have some of the crap I have. 10 year old expense reports from old trips to clients. A rain poncho (I have no idea where that came from) I still have another drawer or two to go through.

I can't imagine what it's going to be like to clean my personal stuff out of my office when I retire. I've been in this room since 1987. :D

I threw all those old expense reports into the shred box. The thing is I had a double cubicle so I had a lot more room than this office. This room is so stuffy. I'm going to have to get some sort of fan for when I shut the door.

Reminds me of long ago office manager/front desk job where we were in an office building shared with a financial planning company...we were on the first floor. Pulled into work one day to see water pouring down the tinted glass front of the building from the second floor down. They were remodeling the second floor, and someone knocked a fire sprinkler head off from the ceiling. Got water into our office and onto some stuff that shouldn't get wet. Here's the thing...happened again later that night! And over my desk. Luckily, someone was in the office at the time. My desk calendar was ruined, but the guy pried the case off of my CPU and placed a floor dryer near it. Eventually needed a new monitor, but saved the CPU.

So there's a police impersonator in the area. Heard that he pulled over someone in my town this morning. Driving a Crown Vic with cherries and berries on the roof and grille. Was wearing a police uniform and was armed. We don't have unmarked cars nor Crown Vics anymore and neither do the sheriff's department nor state patrol.

Do they think this is the guy that is stopping everyone?
