On the positive side, we've made great strides since this game last year. Our offense is clearly going to score some points this year. We still finished like a team trying to learn to win, though, instead of a team expecting to win. Going to have to build on this and get better (particularly on the defensive side of the ball, but a bit on offense as well).

GD the result of this game really, really pisses me off. I'm done with this team for a while.

Not enough difference makers on defense period. Plus piss poor tackling and that adds up to not getting stops when the game is on the line.

Was that an Iowa player with the fans right after?

Thought it wasn't a big deal to beat ISU?

Who will be our DM on defense? His play needs to bleed over to many more on the offense AND defense.

Butler is gonna be a crowd pleaser this year!

The ref card already?

I'd go back to the 50 missed tackles, the WR drops, the blown coverages of our (over rated?) DBs.

Is it the ref card to point out one clearly blown play along with zero IA turnovers and playing worse in OT?

Switch any of those 3 and ISU most likely wins. You're saying that's not true? Be realistic. Close game and you're deluding yourself if you don't think those three things could have flipped it. It's hard to be upset with our guys for one TO against a solid d.

It was over on the offensive drive near the end when we decided we were just going to try not to lose and stopped doing the things that were working. Instead, inevitably, we punt the ball away and put the game on our defense; a squad that had already given up 3 drives for 90+ yards. I'm sorry, when you are Iowa State you always have to play to win.

If we play well from here there's still a lot of positives. We closed nearly 40 points on them from a year ago and the result against UNI was just as drastic a change.

Hopefully we beat Akron and find 4-5 B12 wins somehow. It certainly looks like the conference is less stable than some previous years.
