CMC has moved ISU away from texas recruiting and we are on the upswing so I no longer think its as big of a blow to lose those pipelines. I think looking at schools like Notre Dame and Nebraska are both similar case studies. TV contracts have evened the playing fields for both exposure and revenue.
I think the lack of national success the last 10-15 years and the schedule changes to the B1G are the largest part of the change in attitude for Nebby fans. The B1G West is a pretty boring division for their fan base where they have to wait every 4-5 years before they have a good homeslate (i.e. 2021 home games are tOSU, Mich, Iowa, Wisc). 2020 is awful (Purdue, PSU, ILL, Minn). With a lack geographical and historical ties to those opposing fanbases/programs and Lincoln seems like a lonely place out west in the B1G.
