We live in the town where I was raised. When my brothers come home for things like class reunions, they try and take me to things like the Homecoming assembly or something to try and get me to help them identify their own high school classmates, as if I'm going to know lol. I'm usually good enough to know I should know who the person is but can't pull up the name to save my life. On the other hand, I remember every number ever, from ancient phone numbers, to all the kids' SS numbers, to even their college ID numbers. I'm clearly either an idiot savant or maybe just the first word of that.

Numbers trip me up more. All the kids birthdate are odd numbers with one even. All combos of 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 13, 15. When I am asked a kid's birthdate I am always like, "um, let me think . . . "

Teacher work day today, so no school. We have trick-or-treat on actual Halloween, not some Beggar's night. ;) Both night are going to be cold and windy--yuck.

How is it that I can remember the guy's name pictured with Boxster at the game watch (someone I haven't seen in 20 years and only knew through band), but can't remember things written on my grocery list? @SaraV if your hubby is still thinking, I can message his name to you. :) Pretty impressive that he can still fit in his band uniform, and his looks have not changed that much. We bought hubby's drum major uniform when they were selling them (got new uniforms for the navy/"swirly Cy" era of the late 90's/early 2000). He, however, would not be able to wear his uniform at the moment . . .

We did compliment him on fitting into the uniform. I don't have any old uniforms of my own but my father's WWII uniform fits me perfectly. Wore it to work a couple years ago when we did a Halloween dress up. Damn, all wool and hot!

Lol I went to store yesterday just for milk, came home with apples, bananas, tea, bandages, and no milk. So then I made a kid go get milk cause that's how I roll.
PapaLew gets off work before I do, so he often stops by the grocery store for me. I'll ask him to pick up a couple of items, and he'll come home with six to eight bags full of groceries, and only one of the two items originally requested. :)

This is the vixen, in spades.....she'll go with a list of 4 or 5 items and come back having spent over $200. She claims she's not an impulse buyer, but all 5 girls would heartily vote that she is. (She's in denial.)

@SaraV if your hubby is still thinking, I can message his name to you.

Nah, he eventually got it...but thanks!

So because a certain person wanted to relive his band years, I was the one up in the press box...for only the first half. We have to do these one minute recorded reports for the games concerning the TOE, and they kicked at 5:30. I stayed to watch halftime, but I wasn't even outside the gates yet when Turpin ran that kickoff back. Power walked aaaalllll the way back to the lot north of Hilton, and then had to listen to the radio as I drove to our hotel room in WDM. Yes, the "Let's Go State" was very cool sounding...but was getting tired of all the empty possessions. (Gah, missed FG) Got the computer up and running right at 5:30, but no FS1 at this hotel, so had to "watch" on my phone, but had the TV turned to the Iowa State game on mute. Do you know how hard it is to have to be "mind" invested in one game, but totally emotionally invested in another game?
Not. Easy. So TCU with their last possession, incomplete pass on 1st down, 2nd down I see Hill throw it and yell "Pick it!" while it's still in the air. Thank you for listening, Marcel. I then am hopping in a circle, by myself, in a hotel room, muttering "Omigoshomigoshomigoshomigosh!" I REALLY want to log onto CF and other social media to see reactions, but nooooooo. I have to report on this snoozefest of a game. (TOE scored on their opening drive, but there wasn't another score from either team until the third total possession of the second half) *zzzzzzzzz*

So people are going on about the Cyclone Power chant while Butler's TD was being reviewed. Yes, it was dang loud. The press box is fairly well insulated from sound from outside. I saw something going on early in the game, maybe even pregame, and realized it was the first Cyclone Power chant. I had to strain to hear it. The Butler TD one? Plain as day...made me raise my eyebrows, that's for sure.

The bolded was me during the Oklahoma game. PapaLew was at work. I was watching all by myself. First time in a LONG time I've been on the game thread, DURING the game. It was so lonely watching that incredible game alone. :(

It was beggars night tonight in a small town near me, just on a quick drive thru there were some pretty darn good costumes. Somebody had made a tin man From the wizard of oz costume and 4 kids were pacman and three ghosts. I think those were made of cardboard they were about 3 houses from where I drove by but they really looked good.

Browsing bathroom remodel stuff at Home Depot and notice the store music playing is Donovan's Season of the Witch. Okay, Halloween theme, maybe, but not what I was expecting to be playing. Likey.

And Hocus Pocus is on TV right now. Witches, man, moar witches.

So @BoxsterCy, sounds like from Game Day Thread that Rulzzz went to game by himself and had a blast with the strangers around him. So you should keep him in mind if you want to go again and other friends don't want to, you guys would probably be great wing men for each other.

I was a cardboard Ms PacMan in about 3rd grade. I remember painting the big cutout with yellow tempra paint. Not sure how I got it o school (still did the class parades back then).

We have 2 black cats, a vet, and a 50's girl here.
