I was a cardboard Ms PacMan in about 3rd grade. I remember painting the big cutout with yellow tempra paint. Not sure how I got it o school (still did the class parades back then).

We have 2 black cats, a vet, and a 50's girl here.
I have two black cats also - what a coinkydink! ;)

I used to work with a guy that would say after those seminars "I picked up some great tips"
I've been on the wrong end of harassment a couple of times, but even so, those seminars make my eyes bleed. And we have to re-certifiy periodically. Fooled them, though - I was due for one within the next few months, but I'm outta there!

I had some painful ones but the last rounds of them were really good. Also really sad since it was a big push by the Army to deal with the epidemic of assault in their enlisted ranks. Army folks talking about Army folks behavior in a very frank and depressing manner. Some of the previous video portions were amateurish and you would be thinking "... who the hell produced them." The latest were outstanding acted and produced. Also the ex-Army gal doing the in person classroom part, who traveled to our district, was totally awesome. Tough nut to crack as they are dealing with the Army version of the police blue line where cops protect bad cops and soldiers protect soldiers even the worst of their mates. The whole thing was profoundly depressing compared to the cultural I was used to in the civilian employee portion of the Army.

It's like a Noah's ark for cats.

The other day there was a gorgeous calico cat in the yard.....I tried to befriend it, but it ran off (sorry, not sure of gender). Looked quite a bit like this:
th

I was never a cat person until I met Jinx, who belonged to the vixen. Jinx converted me, though. She'd lay on my lap and I'd rub her head and ears and she would purr so loud that stuff was rattling on the shelves. (I swear!)

Fritz was PapaLew's downfall. Fritz was around 7 when we started dating. He lived another 10 years, the last three of which we had to give him meds daily and made frequent trips to the vet for bloodwork. When Fritz's kidneys finally failed and we had to take him in, we sat in that room & cried together for a half hour or more. Then we took Fritz home & PapaLew disappeared to his shop. He came back about a half hour later with a tiny wood coffin he had just built. We wrote notes on it, put Fritz in a baby blanket and placed him in it, then hiked across the creek to a small clearing under a shagbark and buried Fritz. There are now four more buried there.

PapaLew SAYS he hates cats, but he nearly always has one or two on his lap. :)

Jinx was 17 when she gave it up, too. She started dragging her rear end around, and wouldn't use her litter box. I told the vixen that it was probably time, and of course she wailed that "What if it really isn't?" So I took her to Dr. Holm and he agreed that Jinx just wasn't enjoying life. So I took her in (the vixen refused to go) and we were in the room, and the gal asked if I wanted to stay, I said I didn't think I could handle it. So as I was walking out, I turned to look, and Jinx is giving me this look like "Where are you going?" Broke my heart.
