People have to remember that Prohm struggled to win with experienced and Talented teams in his first two years. This team lacks talent and experience, so this going to get bad. He is a great recruiter and hopefully he grows as a coach and becomes better in the coming years.[/QUOTE)

Can you define struggle? They won at places like Kansas

It has to suck seeing Shayok in practice every day knowing how much he could help this team right now.

Well, the bright side is that it cannot get worse. We have plenty of talent to be 2-0 right now. Maybe it was a couple of nights where the shots just weren't falling. We will see.
Just stop. We don’t have that talent.

We lack in almost every facet on offense. We don’t have a single complete player on that end.

On defense, we may have a chance to be mediocre to average, but it’s going to take awhile.

Bad basketball so far this season. But man, some of y'all (well, many of you) turn on kids wearing the cardinal and gold faster than Benedict Arnold.

Fred left the friggin' cupboard completely BARE...this was inevitable, but Prohm hs been masterful in restocking...you should be grateful he'll have the moxy to make these games a forgone memory soon enough!
I am not going to hold my breath. I would not say much if there was improvement game to game. We are getting worse. Until i see improvement I won't have many nice things to say.

Its tough to win with only role players. Obviously Prohm tried, and tried hard to get some guys in here last spring. Juiston, and a couple grad transfers that were impact players, it just didn't work out. For example, Egor the transfer from Rice that we had a visit set up with, but he committed to Florida early, scored 34 tonight with 6-9 from 3-pt land. Also, remember it was pretty hard to get anyone to come here when we had so many seniors plus returning starters back in Prohm's first two years. I know everyone hoped we could just reload cuz of 6 straight NCAA appearances, but it really is a total rebuild. As it will be next year, too, with four freshmen coming in. Everybody (including the fans) are going to have to just hang in there. Just like the football team had to do last year.

What?!?! Look at Diante under McD for 3 years and 1 year under Fred. It was night and day.

I will agree that Diante clearly improved under Fred. I attribute that to Fred letting him play where McD coached them to death with 1000 plays and over thinking.

I think Fred was a 'players' coach and did well with player psychology. D was highly suspect. He also placed too much faith in 3 point shooting. Remember loosing to a bad TT team shooting about 500 3's at a 14% clip? That game hurt bad in a lot of ways.

prohm did try, he’s great at that in recruiting. But trying hard and commitment before other P5 coaches works a lot better in high school recruiting than the fast paced transfer recruiting. I don’t think Prohm is much of a speed-dater

So I guess this is officially the first game of the Prohm era. Not a good start with no Niang and Morris to make you look good.

I knew Prohm was a bad coach, but wow, just wow. He might be able to recruit high school kids but if this is the quality of transfers he's going to get we are in deep trouble.
I remember when a lot of posters on here said wait until Prohm gets his players to see what kind of an offense he ran. He has them now, and now we know

At least the football team improved game after game. We haven't improved. This team has no chemistry and body language is horrible.

Yeah, essentially right now, you have an entire team of role players. Couple of them will become good players in the Big 12 as they mature and the game slows down, but nobody is there yet and probably won't be for awhile.

man...2 weeks ago I was thinking Big 12 Title game for football and thinking we were going to b e a bubble team in basketball. That fell apart quick.

I guess I thought we were finally to a point were a "down" year was a last four in/NIT type of year. I am setting the bar for wins this year at 9. Maybe getting 2 guys back will help a bit.
