Are schools leaking info to gauge interest or are they just putting out names they have on a list? Seems to me there should be only one name on their list and it's Scott Frost. Maybe it's MC side drumming up interest to get a better contract, but I would think that he wouldn't need any help getting a bigger deal.

Campbell doesn’t have an agent, so this is all coming from Nebraska’s side to save face.

How many people think either after the game today or tomorrow there will be an announcement of a contract extension and raise. I really think we will see that, no real knowledge just my feeling of CMC and Pollard, how things will be done, and a little bit of faith mixed in for good measure.

Hopefully this and not the other type of announcement.

I get it but why are they making it public? Just to say we are doing our due diligence? I might have missed it but haven't seen anything about them going after Frost just a lot of people saying they should.

Yes, because they are probably going to lose Frost so this is probably a last ditch effort to force Frost’s hand.

I would expect that 'sources close to Nebraska' are still stuck in the delusion that the Nebraska job is a position coaches with options would actually want. I think they honestly believe they have a chance at any coach in the country, which is going to lead to a lot of disappointment.

If they had any damn sense they'd go after Jason Candle. It's a hire they can actually make and I believe he would do an excellent job.

Jason Candle is the next guy i would call if we needed to replace CMC

I don’t know. Could look at it from a completely different angle. Perhaps some of this is coming from our AD. Marketing is a weird thing. All of this can end up being a huge long-term strategy play.
Right, but that’s not what was suggested.

Anyways, I don’t see CMC considering NU, although we all fully anticipated hearing that NU had dreams of landing Campbell

Article on ESPN.com said that Nebraska still owes Pelini 130K per month for the next 14 months. Also said Riley will be getting 170K per month (unsure of for how long). That's 3.6 million in the next year for two guys to not coach their team. Add in any buyout plus what they will have to pay the new coach, and next year gets expensive quick.

Need to add at least a year for Campbell, that also adds to his buyout; if Campbell really wants to be here long term, he won't care about keeping the buyout high. Commit more money to assistant salaries and recruiting resources; show him we can give him everything he needs to be successful and to take care of his coaching family.

I've seen nothing to believe the Nebraska job won't be Frost's. The only job he was really rumored to be close to was Florida and that's filled. There has been no noise that he's going anywhere else but NU.

I think Tennesee wanted CMC, he told them no, they used the buyout as an excuse and then started their own Schiano dumpster fire. I was worried about Tennessee, but the only jobs I worry about now are Michigan, Ohio St, Notre Dame and Penn St. I think we have him until one of those jobs open. Rumors are starting to swirl about Harbaugh and the Bears so this saga may re-appear after the NFL season and our bowl. Don't see him at A&M or Miss St and the more I think about it any SEC job with the corruption down there. Probably never should have been worried about Tennessee. He grew up in the heart of Big 10 country so it would make sense he took this job as a stepping stone to a premier B1G gig. Or ND.

And no Nebraska, you're not a premier B1G gig.
