Grudgingly, I have to admit, iowa has some talent, but they are effectively neutered by not having a point guard. Similar to ISU the year Sullivan had to run the point. It messes everything else up.

Next year is going to be an intense game in Carver. Two tournament teams going at in a rivalry game.

By 2 tournament teams you mean one NCAA and one CIT? Cause I either see Fran coaching there next year and he'll keep them out of the NCAA or Fran is gone along with Conner and Iowa's looking for a PG again next year.

I haven't watched Iowa a ton - but I did catch bits and pieces (& a little more) leading up to this game - just so I'd have an idea of how they were playing. I can say, from what I had seen from the Hoks, that Pemsl played his best game - couldn't even tell it was the same person on the floor. My guess is that if he had not grown up in this state, his effort tonight would have been fairly pedestrian. I've never, ever seen him that determined and excited in a ball game. No wonder he had an exceptional game tonight.

Iowa's offense really struggles without a good point guard. There were a couple times when their bigs got the ball 14 feet from the basket and couldn't find anyone to throw it to for 6-7 seconds. Point guard needs to get open and get the ball out of their hands.

They could be a lot better next year with the addition of a good point guard and a couple off guards. Certainly do not need any more role playing forwards.

Don't worry Fran Jr will solve that problem, this year. Because a Freshman PG coming off mono is always the missing link.

I disagree. We will easily be a tourney team. Iowa won’t be.

Guessing Iowa 'should' be one(no seniors) ...surely will add a point guard .....or Fran should be on the hot seat.

I wonder how much better Iowa would be with NWB at PG? I'm sure glad we have him!

As long as Fran is still their coach not much. He would only get 20 mins a game with Frans player rotations.
