I always forget Gold beach (just had to look it up again.) For some reason, Omaha, Utah, Juno, and Sword are seared into my memory.Trivia question on MLB baseball game of the week tonight. Not sports related. Name the five beaches of the Normandy Invasion. I got only four.Did get the one the Canadians landed at though which was good since the game is in Toronto tonight.

I'm a bit of a WWII nerd.
Don't know if you're a movie buff, but have you ever seen "A Midnight Clear"?

We had a get-together this past weekend with the families of DD's softball teammates/friends. Late in the evening, I could hear the sounds of "Africa" drifting down from the room they were camped out in.
Mine listen to 80’s anyway, but it was also in The Goldbergs which we watch together.
I saw this on Yahoo. A couple of the commentsJerry Springer is on his way to Minnesota...

Hmm! I've never seen The Goldbergs before. I'll have to see what that's all about.
I did see "Africa" in an end-credits scene on Community once also. Troy and Abed were on a couch with Betty White singing the song. It was a little bizarre.
Think a sitcom Wonder Years set in the 80's. The actual main writer/narrator has all these home videos he made as a kid and most episodes are based off of his real life experiences. It was something the older two and I enjoyed watching together on DVD, now you can catch episodes on Nick in the morning.

Yeah, I know, too soon. But do keep an eye open...
We'll just show up for the wake for the free food.So last night I am working at my side job, re-doing a series of multi-level decks for some people.....I am walking across open 2X10 joists on the walkout part of the deck, about 8' up, with a large piece of composite decking, and lost my balance. Luckily for me the owner had set a piece of plywood across a couple joists so he could water his flowers, and I managed to step onto that instead of stepping between the joists and really ******* myself up.
Tomorrow evening I am going to get a couple sheets of dunnage plywood here at the yard and set them across the joists so that doesn't happen again. Last thing I need is a bunch of RTT'ers showing up at my funeral to add to the eulogy.![]()
