I think its an intriguing idea to play Nebby once again. And this round-robin idea has some merits. I would prefer to see Nebby quality bleed out a few more seasons in the B1G, but after that, here's my thought: Dump UNI game. Replace it with a game that alternates Nebby, Missouri and someone else local (could be Iowa, could be Minnesota, etc).
God no on Nebby and Mizzou. Their actions almost destroyed ISU's athletics. ISU should never ever play them by choice.
Why?
A rotating 2 year cycle would be great ...just play home and home then bring on thee CHOKE Eyes.....I thought it was funny when Scott Frost said in his 1st presser and I quote...."We are NOT gonna WIN every game." Evidently even Scott doesn't think that he is the 2nd coming of his Idol tom osborne.....Id be fine with alternating between Iowa and Nebraska. Either every other year or 2 year cycles.
Growing up in western Iowa, Huskers were always a bigger rival to me than Iowa but I have no interest in this. From what I've heard, this isn't that popular an idea among their fans and administration, they still think they'd be doing us a favor by taking over selling out our stadiums. Their fanbase (like most other husker related things) is clueless about the current state of CFB and stuck firmly in the past.
THIS. The Name. No one outside of the SRV has a clue what this is.How does ISU benefit from that, though? I don't see how swapping them out does anything for the Cyclones. I'd just as soon they keep the Cy-Hawk game in place as an annual thing.
Yeah, I might almost hate Husker fans more than Iowa fans (it also helps that I don't live in Iowa). Because the Iowa fan base has a ton of ******** in it, but at least they aren't claiming to be the classiest fans in college football and whining about how they were the victims in their exit from the Big 12.Entitled, delusional fans like that are the reason I've grown to hate that team.
Folks tend to forget that. When the B12 was formed Nebraska didn’t want equal profit sharing but when they left they used the B1G’s profit sharing as a reason why.
Anyhow, leave it on the table for now. At some point if ISU is to become a 'national power' we will need to improve the quality of our non-conference opponents. When that time comes, if Scott Frost is still coach, revisit the idea.
Beating Nebraska carries no weight where ISU recruits.
Beating Iowa can carry weight with with in-state recruits.
