Nebraska is not the same program it was in my youth. I think Frost has the potential right the ship, but he hasn't done anything yet. I don't see any real value in adding them. if we are looking to play Iowa every other year and add another P5, I would prefer it be a school in a better location for recruiting.

I think its an intriguing idea to play Nebby once again. And this round-robin idea has some merits. I would prefer to see Nebby quality bleed out a few more seasons in the B1G, but after that, here's my thought: Dump UNI game. Replace it with a game that alternates Nebby, Missouri and someone else local (could be Iowa, could be Minnesota, etc).

Of course, the golden key to all this is to get other teams to agree to schedule this series. Playing Iowa State is something that few teams except MAC and up-and-coming FCS teams have been willing to do.

Anyhow, leave it on the table for now. At some point if ISU is to become a 'national power' we will need to improve the quality of our non-conference opponents. When that time comes, if Scott Frost is still coach, revisit the idea.

God no on Nebby and Mizzou. Their actions almost destroyed ISU's athletics. ISU should never ever play them by choice. I don't mind getting other P5 programs, however not them.

Id be fine with alternating between Iowa and Nebraska. Either every other year or 2 year cycles.
A rotating 2 year cycle would be great ...just play home and home then bring on thee CHOKE Eyes.....I thought it was funny when Scott Frost said in his 1st presser and I quote...."We are NOT gonna WIN every game." Evidently even Scott doesn't think that he is the 2nd coming of his Idol tom osborne.....

Growing up in western Iowa, Huskers were always a bigger rival to me than Iowa but I have no interest in this. From what I've heard, this isn't that popular an idea among their fans and administration, they still think they'd be doing us a favor by taking over selling out our stadiums. Their fanbase (like most other husker related things) is clueless about the current state of CFB and stuck firmly in the past.

Stuck in the past my foot....the husker fan base is stuck in the middle ages....aka the devaney era

Entitled, delusional fans like that are the reason I've grown to hate that team.
Yeah, I might almost hate Husker fans more than Iowa fans (it also helps that I don't live in Iowa). Because the Iowa fan base has a ton of ******** in it, but at least they aren't claiming to be the classiest fans in college football and whining about how they were the victims in their exit from the Big 12.

As for this idea: **** them. I'd rather keep the Iowa game and let them have fun with their made up rivalries, playing Rutgers, and getting destroyed by Wisconsin every year.

Beating Nebraska carries no weight where ISU recruits.

Beating Iowa can carry weight with with in-state recruits. I'd have liked Jack Campbell, for one. There's a reason Hayden Fry's business cards listed his record against Iowa State.

I disagree. If we're ever going to become a national power on the level of KSU, we need to schedule like KSU, KU under Mangino, and Baylor under Briles. We need to drastically decrease the quality of our noncon.

And South Dakota and Nebraska kids can easily make it to Ames. The schedule should work like this, some combination of;

A. pump up the win total with tomato cans in the non con
B. a regional P5 school with adjacent talent population (MU, Minn, Illinois, NW, etc.)
C. schools based on the staff's recruiting geography

None of these is Nebraska.

We have rivalries with Iowa and KSU. We have marquee teams we'd love to beat (and have) in OU & UT. Like I said before, I'd love to hear Campbell off the record on Nebraska. No way as an Ohioan he gives two ****s about those ***holes. Neither should we.

I find it funny that Nebraska does not have a true rivalry with anyone since leaving Big 12. They used to have a real rivalry with OU and a lot of healthy hatred with ISU and CU fans.

The Iowa-Nebby rivalry the media tried so hard to create never materialized. I live in CR and never hear Hawk fans mention Nebraska.

As someone mentioned earlier they can enjoy their road trips to Rutgers and Maryland IMO.
