There are some of us that remember what he did and never were in full support of him due to that.

Also remember who was the AD that still hired him even with that, gene smith.

I was a kid and was unaware. I’ll admit I’ve never felt the same about him once I heard about the phone call to police from his wife.

So, the gist of this is knowing that an assistant was roughing up his wife and not reporting it or firing him?

Every program in the country has or has had something like this along the way.

I think "roughing up" is a bit too casual. There are pictures and it was apparently pretty violent.

I think the consensus is he would have been fine if he had just admitted it. But to strongly go on record with something that was exposed as a blatant lie is what got him. It amazes me people continue to do this. You know there's evidence out there, and you know it's going to be discovered. It always seems to be the lie/cover up that gets people.

Not exactly sure.
I think urban should have reported and fired him. I also think there are several other people who should have done something. Urbans wife was talking about making sure she’s safe........how about reporting for her. I’m not victim blaming but am calling out everyone who knew (and urban knew) a real friend is going to do something especially when a pattern occurs.

I know people want to believe it will only be once, so I somewhat understand not reporting on the first incident. But not the second.

Yeah, it was shocking to hear about.
I worked at a gas station in Ames in college and he came in frequently (silver Mercury Mountaineer) and would see him at Monty’s Barber Shop a lot.
Incredibly personable and very easy to talk to.

That was my guess because frankly I don't care enough to dig for facts.

That’s what it was about. Now it’s about lying about it. Which we have to hold every liar accountable in this country.

Some of you guys are missing the point. IF the allegations are true, Urb had very powerful men in his circle pressure this woman into dropping the charges. Again, he didn't just ignore the issue, he assisted in actively covering it up. Allegedly.

That's the sword he will fall on (and he should). Ffs what kind of scum does that? This dude has something on Meyer otherwise why defend him?

Spitballing, Smith is Earle Bruce’s grandson. Urban said Earle was like a second father to him (was an assistant for him at CSU iirc). I think the Earle link kept smith there.

She'll be the fall [guy] on this. They'll blame her, she'll lose her job as RN/tOSU employee but Urban will keep his job. I think their family can handle losing her job and keeping his $7.5M per year...

The only possible way that could work is if Urban said "my wife never brought this up to me." Now, tell me how happy your wife would be with you if she lost her job AND you had to publicly shame her in order to keep your job. I don't even think Urban could sleep in the same zip code...

Are people really worried CMC will go to Ohio State right now?
I don't think many are worried about this year, but next year is a different story.

If OSU only loses 2 games or less and beats Michigan or wins a bowl game, they'll almost certainly keep this Day guy on as HC. They may need to get rid of Schiano by next year unless they can spin a story about how much he's a changed person.
