That's the sword he will fall on (and he should). Ffs what kind of scum does that? This dude has something on Meyer otherwise why defend him?

I posted earlier about how Zach Smith said he would bring Ohio State down if he were fired. So maybe he does have something on Meyer.

Not exactly sure.

Shows there is not one redeeming quality in the guy. The guy keeps you because of your grandpas relationship to him even after you do stuff that should jail you. Wonder how this would be going if Earle was alive.

I don't think coaches are mandatory reporters.

Actually, coaches are.

While the University encourages all campus community members to report incidents of harassment or discrimination, several classifications of employees have been identified as "mandatory reporters" for Title IX purposes. These employees have authority and responsibility to take action to remedy harassment. Examples of mandatory reporters include:

  • Vice presidents, vice chancellors, vice provosts, deans, department heads, directors and coaches
  • Employees in supervisory or management roles
  • Faculty members
  • Student affairs professionals
  • Residential life staff

Hearing Bo Pollini as replacement.

Please let that happen. :D
I think Bo Pelini is a good coach but if he couldn't handle the irrational alumni/boosters at kNU I have no idea how he'd be able to handle the tOSU alumni/boosters. He'd also not be allowed to bring his brother anywhere near the program.

Re: Campbell does not have the resume for an Ohio State

Yeah, because there are a lot of coaches lying around waiting for something to do that have competed for national championships or even won some.

There is absolutely no way Urban survives this. 10 years ago he probably would have but in the social media age the backlash would be massive. Placing him on paid administrative leave last night is a pretty good indication that tOSU is getting everything aligned so they can **** can him. Sounds like the evidence is there, so the only thing that could drag this out are the legal ramifications.

That's what Reece Davis said on ESPN last night too. He said that's the move you make as you work out a settlement before termination.

Interesting. I honestly didn't watch any of ESPN's coverage/discussion on it. I had already seen and read enough to be completely disgusted. I also found it very ironic how long it took ESPN to even acknowledge the story.

I noticed that as well. They were very late to the party. And even when they did publish, their headlines were more innocuous than other sites.

It sounds like urban talked to the guy about it and didn't know what to believe. If the police and D.A. already knew about it but refused to press charges, what does he have the power to do?

He has the power to fire him or not retain him on his staff.

I could see Bob Stoops or Les Miles as being legitimate candidates.

Les Miles probably flew himself to Columbus yesterday just on the chance.

I really do think Bobby Stoops is done, though.

I talked to a few OU fans, and they all agreed his retirement was heartfelt.

I think you couple this with the last 3 years of OSU football, and I don't think they will be too upset to see him go. With the talent they have had, the last 3 years can only be characterized as a disappointment, even though it would be a monumental success for most other programs.

If you listen to Urban talk about it last week, the clips themselves show little concern for domestic violence and he tries to cover up his own role in getting the wife to drop the charges in 2009. Urban with regard to 2009 says "they were a young couple" as if being young means you abuse your wife and that's ok, and then he says what was reported (to the police) is not what happened is if he thinks that she is making it up because she dropped the charges but he is the one who sent people to talk to her about dropping the charges. He also throws in comments like he shouldn't be bothered with questions about these incidents or have to deal with them because his focus is on winning and coaching or something to that effect.

Do we really know that Meyer didn't tell anyone in the AD? what if he told people in the AD and it was decided that since no charges were filed they weren't going to do anything but put the guy on a probation?

I know what you are insinuating but hats off to them for at least potentially gathering the facts and being sure about the story before they reported.

1.) Winning and losing won't have any weight regarding tOSU's decision.
2.) tOSU fans are defending Meyer. They are a pretty special breed...

Gary Barta called and he said that he hopes that Urban has this documented....
