Yeah. I agree. Khabib didn't look like McGregor gave him much of a challenge at all. He had his way with him in the first two rounds, and then stood toe to toe in round 3, basically mocking McGregor's "dominant" striking prowess. And then in round four he got the choke out.
McGregor's game has never been about grappling, and he's totally outclassed by Khabib in that area. He's not going to just get good at it in a year or two.
Actually, in the first Khabib was able to do nothing once on the ground. He couldn't do what he wanted to do at all. He won the round but it was hardly impressive. The second round was a beating and probably a 10-8 round. When they stood up in the third round, Conor won the round and then in the 4th, Khabib was finally able to advance positions like he wanted to and once he got into full mount it was over. Conor made some things harder than I think KN thought they'd be which I don't think most people recognize.
So, I don't think Conor wins a rematch but I don't think it's a "punchers chance" scenario either. He has some pretty good takedown defense for someone who is constantly said to have no wrestling. We'll see. I don't want to see it for awhile. I'd rather see Kevin Lee get a shot at Khabib. That guy's been ****** because he didn't pull out of the Ferguson fight like he should have after having staph.
