I don't remember Prohm saying he would serve a punishment. In fact, I remember him saying the opposite. Something along the lines of not having any restrictions once he returned from the wellness clinic.

When he said that he was referencing his return to the team, I don't know if him being held out of a scrimmage would fall under that or not. To be fair I am only repeating what was said earlier in this thread, I wasn't trying to say I have new information to add.

I was referring to your original post:

You are very much jumping the gun to say this year has the most actual depth since the elite eight team.

Haha, read harder.

Saying there's potential isn't declaring it's actually happening. Just looking at the experience available to supplement what's appears to be some nice raw talent in the starting line. If Lard is starting, I have strong confidence in Solo as the next man in.

It was said recently, by Prohm, that he was back fully on the team, but they would handle any remaining penalty internally (my words from memory, not his).

He won the Big12 tournament with a PG, 2 SGs, a SF and an undersized True Freshman PF a couple years ago. That team improved the whole year. He's a pretty good coach.

I would have said that team was more...

1 PG (should have been an All-American)
3 SG (one very undersized for the Big 12)
3 SF (one very hot and cold and two limited/borderline players in the Big 12)
1 PF / undersized C (an inexperienced true freshman)

Still a heck of a coaching job considering how far he took that roster.

The advanced metrics say that team was better than any of the previous five.

In 2014-2015 the roster was comprised of:
Georges Niang (NBA player)
Monte Morris (NBA player)
Bryce Dejean-Jones (NBA player)
Abdel Nader (NBA player)
Naz Mitrou-Long (NBA two-way player)
Jameel McKay (overseas)
Dustin Hogue (overseas)
Matt Thomas (overseas)
Daniel Edozie (overseas)
Clayton Custer (MVC POTY)

and we also had Deonte Burton redshirting

Yeah, I'd say you're jumping the gun
And they lost to UAB smh

We do like our hoops. Pushing 150 posts on a scrimmage that no one actually saw. I kinda like this. ;)

Anticipation for this years hoops team while football still has a lot to look forward to.

Interesting that Tyrese was bench player to get the most minutes, not what I expected. I know he has been a pleasant surprise so far but with the mono and being skinny I figured he wouldn't be playing much this game.
Ok, I am stupid, where do I find the box score? Been looking for 45 minutes. Somebody help.

The won the Big 12 tourney 4 days earlier, including beating KU in the championship game. That was ab better indication of that team than a random 11 AM game. (Still shouldn't have happened.)

That squad was the ultimate high variance team.

Wait...are we blaming the start time for that loss? That's Hokdomesque.

They were probably behind more than ahead in the Big 12 tourney.

That team was more defined by the losses to teams that pushed them around a bit, and that's what UAB did. The talent was there but unfortunately they were a house of cards at the worst of times.

The 16-17 team may not have had the same sort of hype, but watching their growth throughout the year was way more enjoyable as a fan...hopefully something similar can happen this season.

Former ISU assistant Jim Halihan attended several practices last year and said Shyok was clearly our best player -FWIW

Part of that may have also been experience but that's always a factor anyway.

Exciting because I think there's plenty of raw talent around him. Sounds like he's enjoying the tempo and culture at ISU too which is fun.

I think the 16-17 was the second best of that era. The Kane/Georges/Ejim was the best.

It's all running together but weren't they down 19 to KU early in the 2nd half and drilled them the rest of the way?

Yep. Down to Texas literally every second until the buzzer and won. Then we played OU when spangler missed a bunny. Then we were down 17 at the half to KU and smoked them in the second half. Great tournament to be at though.
