But targeting requires hitting a defenseless player. The definition of a defenseless receiver is:
"A receiver attempting to catch a forward pass or in position to receive a backward pass, or one who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball carrier."

Once Montgomery lowers his head he is no longer defenseless.

Forcible contact with the crown doesn't require a defenseless player to be targeting. That was pretty much just two players going low at the same time, I'd be upset if one of our DBs got kicked out for that.

Most of this game was hard to watch but the last 10 minutes were highlight central.
