Thanks....But people on this bored should know not to argue with ISUFan22 after all he is the supreme football expert. I don't claim to know all, but no offense ISUFan22 I do know no more of what goes on than someone who has never been on the field.
People need to realize football is a very emotional game, you are running and trying to hit people as hard as you can. Sometimes this emotion takes over and you do a little to much, it happens. The very first play I was ever in on I got a late hit penalty on a kick off because I was so hyped up and when JJ Moses caught the ball I wanted to make sure I did my job for him. Well I did my job and then some, I finished my block but unfortunatley it was well after the whistle and we got penalized 15 yards. The coaches chewed my butt, but in all honesty I was caught uo in the moment and never even heard the whistle.
and may not have known whaer he was exactly on the field.
i haven't read through all these comments frankly because too many of them **** me off. my question is why is no one placing any blame on the coaching staff. I'm not saying its their fault lj got those penalties, but they could have prevented the second one. they shoud have taken lj out for the rest of the series if not the quarter let him calm down and get his emotions back in check before putting him back out there. I'm not condoning
what he did just saying the coaches should know better

I would submit that his peer pressure will be pretty damn high-and it should be. Team leaders need to lead a young guy-I know we won't hear about it, but my guess is he will pay with his team as well. That's part of what this thread is all about (or at least my intentions for it). What do you think is an appropriate message to send to the team and fans about what happened to ensure that it doesn't happen again?
Cleaning the PFs up on the field clearly lays on the shoulders of the coaching staff, and if it doesn't get cleaned up they are clearly the ones who are responsible.
Wow, you idiots continue to amaze me... Considering kicking him off the team??? WOW, you people put you children to bed at 8 o'clock on saturday nights too, right?
Multiple PF's is not a good thing, but agressive play can be a momentum swing for the good too...

From coaching experience (small time), I always found it much easier to scale back an aggressive kid than it was to make a very talented, but passive kid aggressive.
LJ is what we want - extremely talented and aggressive. He will be coached to scale it back or eventually he won't be on the field. It's pretty simple.

I voted to suspend him for the KU game and unspecified team sanctions, but I have mixed feelings on this. I hate the personal fouls, and it is killing our team. But I also like having players that play with a little nastiness. I am so used to watching ISU being the ones pushed around that it is kind of nice to see our guys fight back and get the personal foul every now and then. I guess the only reason I voted the way I did is because the the particular play. For the most part though the personal fouls have infact been because of heat of the moment aggressivness.
