Weather, boo hiss. Niece and kiddos are supposed to start driving from Indy back to Montana tomorrow with overnight at Hotel Boxster. At least they are stopping here before they drive into the worst of it.
66 down in Dallas. Got my windows open.

Totally thinking of posting a picture of my imaginary girlfriend, Monique, on our New Years Eve date. She's French you know!

We have prime rib in the oven. Will be a couple hours before we eat, though.

We have had a great Christmas thus far. LittleWx started questioning yesterday how Santa would get in since we don’t have a chimney so we left the back door unlocked until after he was asleep. He also wanted to leave carrots out for the reindeer and to see a picture of Santa when he came. Thankfully MrsWx found an app to put a Santa overlay on a picture.
Two hours left until the in-laws leave. I have not yet made any snide remarks so I am doing great!
Will be thinking of the marching band tonight as they make their journey to Texas. I don’t miss those bus rides. God speed to anyone flying out of DSM tomorrow.

I never know WHAT to expect from my sister in Washington...other than the annual calendar of flowers and garden art from her amazing garden, and the ubiquitous Frango mints. This year was no different...

Meh. I admittedly let their lack of planning, time management, communication and punctuality get to me too much but it really bugs me and who else to vent to but you guys.
If any of you remember JSmith who used to hang around here some....his mom was tragically killed in a car vs deer accident Sunday evening on highway 30.
I remember him - he was either in the murder house, or played mafia. Don't remember which. Oh, wait - he was in our bracket challenge the first year Cooler ran it.
My family let me watch some of the Dr Who Christmas Marathon. I hadn't seen a complete trailer yet for the new year's day special. So, when I heard "exterminate!" I scared Z by squealing in excitement.

I hate that Tama county stretch (where the incident was). Was driving on 100 heading out to Newhall at 4PM on Sunday and saw a big herd (20+) on a hill next to the highway. That explains why they have extra tall fences there.
Sudden onset of chills, fatigue, fever, aches.......I have the flu, don't I? Feeling better right now vs. a few hours ago. Took ibuprofen at 8pm but still have 100.5 temp. Did get my flu shot this year....little man can't get one until next month. I'm sure hoping this is something else and that he doesn't get it.
