To say LW is getting by with athleticism is a pretty dumb statement. Not only did he shoot 40% from 3 last year, he has shown tremendous ability to create and hit tough shots at a fairly high rate. As you could see when he was trying to guard Weathers, he's not all the way back to being as explosive and quick as he was (or perhaps still needs to gain some confidence in the foot) and he was still a nightmare to guard on the offensive end.
He was working his butt off on D last game, even though you could tell he was still probably a half step slower than usual, the hard work to get to a good position guarding did not go unnoticed to me. He got beat off the dribble badd, when they finished with the slam, but you could tell that he just misread the move and was beat right away. Other than that, him showing that type of effort on D was very encouraging to me.

yeah a 6'3" freakishly athletic guard who plays off the ball can never make it in the NBA.....

His wingspan is much longer than Lindell’s and IMO, Lindell is going to need to take some big steps forward this year to be as good as Mitchell was in college.

I’ve been thinking about a Etwaun Moore comparison, but Moore has both PG skills and ability to guard some SFs so I’m not sure that’s a good comparison.

But those were, um, just athletic threes.

His effective shooting percentage wasn’t good last year, but his ability to take them was high.

Bold Statement, Lindell and THT are back next year.

Lindell will be 21 in two months. No reason to play college ball after this season. He isn't going to improve his stock with another year and his window will continue to close. Get drafted, work your ass off and get a full contract or at worst play in the G League and improve like Monte did.

If Abdel Nader can play in the NBA mostly on being a slasher and shooter, after being a fourth option at ISU, I have no doubts about Wigginton. The kid can ball, and while defenders are better in the NBA, so is the spacing. Nader's arguably a better scorer in the NBA than he was in Ames. I'm still amazed that Monte can guard people in that league.

Nader has size that Lindell doesn't. He has been asked to guard 1 through 4 in the league at times. There is no way Lindell would have a chance of guarding NBA 4s or most NBA 3s.

Lindell will have to play substantially better and take us deep in the tourney this year to really get his draft stock to a point where he wants it to be on the draft boards. He kept saying he wants to be the first kid from Nova drafted in the first round.....

That’s nonsensical, if not contradictory.

Substantially better?
2 things:

1. Lindell was a borderline 1st round pick last year in a deeper draft then this years. His current "drop" in the mocks is due to being out with injury not bad play. He is still on scouts mind and plays the same as last year will likely still be drafted though solidly in the 2nd round (which he may be okay with after his 2nd season).

2. Lindell hasn't gotten a chance yet to see his improvement from last year yet. He has had an evaluation to show him weaknesses and full summer (sans injury) to work on improving his weaknesses. Most player make their biggest jump in play from Freshman to Sophomore years.

I want to see him finish the year before determining his draft stock.

Given his age, I doubt being a 1st Round pick is a requisite to him leaving after this year.
Playing pg this year is out, but hopefully he replicates his 3P shooting from last year.

His comment on the fact was something along the lines of "I want to be the first player ever drafted to the NBA from Nova Scotia, and I want to do it right, like a first round/lottery pick."

Can't fault the guy for shooting for it.

If Lindell ups his shooting % from last year and improves his assist-to-turnover ratio from last year, he will be a late first round pick. Too good of an athlete for teams to pass up.

Lindell is coming off an injury, so a lot of what he did last year might not matter much anymore. Scouts are going to want to see how he is now, and if he can get back to being the same player as last season, or actually a better player than he was last year. So far he hasn't shown that same ability yet this season, but it's still VERY early.
