Jfc can we please stop with blaming the refs for absolutely everything. Just sounds pathetic at this point.

Iowa and AZ were the worst losses and not at all on refs.

KSU and Baylor didn't outplay ISU without a boost from the refs.

Laughing at half of the board who thinks ISU has to play flawlessly for the officials to have an effect on the outcome, it's probably the most irrational thing you frequently here.

He was scored over on the drive before he missed the front end of a one and one. He has hardly played in the Big XII and you want to leave him in at the end? Nope. I would take him out as well. Have to put in the experience.
That last shot he made the guy put so much arch on the ball and forced him to make a tough shot. Not like Jacobsen who didn’t even do anything to challenge the shot.

Finesse teams always whine about the refs because when they get bullied by bigger, stronger players it always looks like they are being fouled.

If you want to have finesse players, you gotta take the bad with the good. You can't just celebrate the talent of the amazing players when they play well and scream at the refs when someone exposes their weaknesses.
Finesse is a good adjective for your Jayhawks.

The announcers were wrong too! Go back and rewatch that replay. It initially goes off ISU, but a KSU player tipped it last. It was definitely out on KSU and the ref that called it correctly the first time was 2 feet from them while the ref that overturned it was at half court. That’s ridiculous.

This loss is not on the refs, but they certainly contributed plenty to the cyclone efforts and affected the flow of this game.

It was very clearly off of KSU. 2 unearned points right there.

I believed they also scored on the obvious foul where the ref was staring right at it.

Those weren't even foul calls so the "they let them play crowd" doesn't even get their wet dream officiating denial on those.

Idk, refs are pretty good at calling fouls on our two physical players, Lard and Shayok. Lard averages 12 fouls per 40!

I do agree with your point in general. Definitely a weakness of our program over the last 10 years.

There's some truth to this but the two worst calls today was a reversed out of bounds call where the original call was correct and an obvious travel where a ref had his eyes on it five feet away.

Neither had anything to do with KSU playing rougher than ISU.

People defending the refs here have obviously never played sports and don't realize how blown calls can affect the dynamics of the game. Yeah isu should try to rise above it but it makes the game more difficult. That difficulty is on refs. Not our team.

So shoving guys out of bounds, pushing players to the ground, missing clear traveling calls but then on the other end we get called for breathing on people. The big 12 won’t let us play physical but every other team gets away with it.

I think we both understand how awful the CBB officiating is in general because we watch NBA officials a lot. I’m amazed at how good NBA refs are much of the time. Nuggets fans are like Iowa State fans in that they believe there are certain refs are out to get them, but the NBA refs seem to get 90% of difficult calls right, where NCAA refs get maybe 60-70%.

Of course games against teams that are big and physical and we just happen to get refs that "let them play". Then against a team like OU and I GUARANTEE they will call every little thing.

Bad calls happen in EVERY GAME. They happened against KSU today, too. Make your FT's and wide open 3's; it's that simple.

The reversal was the correct call. Replay showed it off us and announcers agreed also. No reason to complain about that one.

Just because the announcer said that doesn’t mean the ref was correct.

We lost by one point. A wade layup that should have never happened. Missed frees throws, threes would not have mattered if refs had just made a basic call.

I don’t agree with us losing because of the refs. I think it was in conjunction with the refs. Free throws, refs, three point shooting, Prohm. Not in that order but that’s why we lost.

However, I’m sick of the refs screwing up so bad. I’m sick of the announcers agreeing with bad calls even though they see the replay and know it was a bad call.

Totally agree. Ultimately CBB officials are amatures just like players and game changing calls are just part of the sport. It's just annoying when it happens to your team. Hopefully the refs will win us a few games down the road and it will all even out.
