Where would you rank Prohm far as big 12 coaches go.

His scoring went up his senior year. His assists weren't the same but he didn't have Niang that could play virtually anywhere.

I'm not too confident limping in to March, and depending on who leaves next year is a big question mark. Not every guy is going to be Chris Beard. Dude is a flat out stud coach. The other guys that are better than Prohm have been doing this forever. Some coaches take time at this high level to figure it out. It's really his first year of his own full roster, and he's learning on the job. Maybe he will become really good, maybe he won't.

Beard has a 1-5 record against Prohm. Tech had a 1 game lead on Kansas last year on Feb 14th, they lost four of the next five, two to NIT teams. Not to mention getting destroyed by a terrible Iowa State team by 18 earlier in the year.[/QUOTE]

............And then he took his team to the Elite 8, lost his entire starting lineup, and is about ready to win a conference championship.

Nader and Burton got better because they went from 6th man roles to playing 30 minutes a game. Of course their numbers are going to be better, they arent Nicholas Baer talent where they get worse the more they play.

Monte was always Monte, his scoring increased because he had to be the primary scorer, not because of some masterful job Prohm did coaching.

Jameel took his own steps back and was limited in real offensive ability no matter what.

One could just as easily say that Abdel took his own steps forward. We don't know the steps Abdel took on his own such as time, effort, and focus placed on ball-handling, shooting, lifting, and watching video. It's a package deal, either Prohm gets credit for both or for neither.

Yeah, I generally agree with you. I’d say the development of that group of guys met expectations. Maybe slightly exceeded them.

People are surprised prohm got handed a group of highly polished professional players and did well. Like we literally had people saying his cupboard was equally bare to hoiberg last week.

There was definitely a reason the team Prohm took over was in the preseason top 10. Hoiberg was left with Melvin Ejim, Scotty C, Diante Garrett, and Jamie V. That was it. Then Fred had to scramble to find enough guys to have enough players to survive a season.

It’s been a rough month for the team but I bet 90% of us would have ranked him in the top 3-5 just one month ago. I’m as disappointed as everyone and if the trend continues, resulting in a first round loss, I will be very concerned. At this point though, this is over reaction based on one month rather than on Prohm’s full resume here.

Coaches should be measured first by their record, second by how they conduct their program, and finally the quality of their youngsters. Fans rationalize around those factors for their own agenda, with little regard for coaches' merit.

So if we can get the guy for a bargain price and he is buddy buddy with the AD then we're ahead of the game?

This is a business. Prohm has a mediocre record in conference. Judging by CF it looks like the fan frustration is growing pretty high.

He needs some wins or this situation isn't going to end well

I'm mostly just frustrated that the same mistakes we saw in January we see now.
